My name is Greg and when I got out of jail last year, I had nowhere to stay or money to afford to even get a room. Family would not let me come stay and I didn't want to go back to the trap and risk getting caught up again. But I called Mrs. Banks at NORA and she helped me out with a room for 30 days until I was able to get a job and earn some money. After enrolling in her program I was able to get a job in construction and work under a GC . After 6 months working I was able to move into my own apartment and get a car. That would not have been possible with the organization's help
When I was released I had no family support or nowhere to live. while in jail I looked up programs and found NORA, I contacted them while still locked up and we started exchanging info and creating my home plan... From the start Ms. Beatrice made me feel like she really cared and wanted to, make sure I was successful at transitioning back to a normal life, this program is one of the best I have experienced.. Since joining I have maintain a place to stay not in a bad area, I have keep a full time job( and they take me to work until i get transportation ) They are even helping my improve my credit score so I can try to buy a house in the nest year or so.. So I give this nonprofit 5 stars
I started in the program while still an inmate at Morgan County, it was about 18 months before I was due to be released. They help me put my housing plan in place as well as got me linked up with an employer so when I came home I already had a job. I am in an apprenticeship program where once I am finished I will be making 34.00 an hour. They are also assisting me in correcting my credit and obtaining my driver license.
his is a great program
Thanks Ms. Beatrice
National Offender Re-Entry Association helped me overcome the struggles of returning back to society by assisting me with transportation from the time I was released, to providing me a place to stay until I was able to afford a place of my own. The resources provided prevented me from committing another crime, just to get back on track after I was released. Not having an ID, or any computer knowledge would have made that transition almost impossible but I give a BIG THANKS to my new N.O.R.A. family. I am currently an apprentice for an automotive company learning how to remodel and paint cars, which has always been my dream.
