I applied for the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Scholarship. The application is on the Foundation's website. I invested a significant amount of time gathering supplemental materials, recommendations, and filling out the application. After all this months later I never heard a response. I emailed the Chair Felix Sanches, who initially encouraged me to apply via email, but I never heard back after the date the winners were supposed to be chosen. I also tried calling the number on the website but there is either no answer, the mail box is full, or the woman speaking says the number is not to the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts. I may not have been selected for the scholarship but I believe I should be worthy of a response after taking the time to apply to this scholarship. I hope that someone actually was granted a scholarship and if not then there should be an announcement on their website or Facebook. I find it pretty bizarre and misleading to students who are trying to search for funding for studies in the arts.
