Causes: Crime & Law, Prison Alternatives
Mission: To provide collaborative leadership to support individuals and organizations working to build and raise the awareness of the importance of fathers in the lives of all children and families. Nflg does not provide direct service to individuals, though we will on occasion respond to an individual request for the name of a fatherhood resource in a particular geographic area.
Programs: Communication- to maintain,update and upgrade nflg's website, have and maintain an electronic database for large email communication and produce and disseminate an electronic newsletter to keep the responsible fatherhood field informed on grant opportunities and topics of interest. Database contains 1,800+ contacts.
public policy&education-sponsorship of and participation at the international fatherhood conference; board members are panelists,moderators and presenters at plenary sessions and workshops on policy, practice, research and emerging trends in the responsible fatherhood field.
collaboration-board members presented at conferences regarding nflg and the importance of responsible fatherhood to key stakeholder groups. Expenses were paid for by the board members own organization or by the organization that invited the board member to speak.
