Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs
Mission: The national council of jewish women (ncjw) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by jewish values, ncjw strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
Programs: 4 a) volunteers provide funding for victims of domestic abuse. Volunteers sponsor a back to school store for over 250 underserved children from low income families that are entering the first grade. Ncjw supplies each child along with his/her siblings with new clothes and school supplies.
4 b) preparation for adult living, ("pal"), volunteers supply backpacks and toiletries for children who are aging out of the foster care system.
4 c) home instructions for parents for pre-school youth, ("hippy"), volunteers train parents to work with their young children to prepare them for kindergarten.
