Mission: The Center for Senior Health provides comprehensive day care services to physically and/or mentally impaired adults regardless of their ability to pay for services. It is the mission of the Center for Senior Health to enable participants to continue living as independently as possible in the community while providing support and relief to their caregivers.
Results: The Center for Senior Health provides annually over 55,000 days of service to over 1000 clients and their caregivers. By providing an alternative to institutionalization for clients who were eligible for nursing home placement, the Center for Senior Health has helped preserve the dignity and independence of these individuals, while delivering a large public cost savings…based on the daily reimbursement rate for adult day services as compared to nursing home reimbursement.
Target demographics: frail, eldely and disabled adults and their caregivers
Geographic areas served: Central and Southern Ohio
Programs: The Center for Senior Helath supports the frail elderly and disabled in their pursuit of independence and dignity while providing them with assistance to address the physical, medical and cognitive challenges of aging. Our goal is to sustain our clients in their desire to continue living within their community and in their own homes. We also provide respite and support to family caregivers while they work or rest. Our clients receive care and support from licensed nurses, social workers, activity professionals and a highly qualified personal care staff. We also provide on-site physical, occupational and speech therapy, and offer transportation for our clients to and from their homes. Our congregate settings provide the opportunity for socialization, participation in mentally and physically stimulating activities, and an environment that respects the independence and dignity of our clients.
