Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: The mission is to initiate and promote charitable endeavors, to foster the mother-daughter relationship, and to develop leadership skills, cultural awareness and philanthropic experiences for girls in grades 7-12.
Programs: Senior recognition event program accomplishment: this event is a long-standing national charity league tradition designed to celebrate the graduating seniors by highlighting their years of service as members and the development of their life, professional and social skills. All ncl preston bluebonnet active members are invited to attend. The senior ticktockers may invite friends and family to attend. The younger ticktockers are inspired by the accomplishments of the graduating class and can see the opportunities and growth that takes place as they follow the six-year program. A video is made, using photos of community service, highlighting all the activities of the class. Speakers at the event include the class president and chapter president. The video also includes each senior reflecting on her community service. Ultimately, the senior class has met the goals of the six-year program and are better prepared to enter the next phase of their life. Objective: the event reflects on the community service, leadership development, personal development and cultural experiences of each member of the class and the members as a group, while demonstrating the value of the six-year program and reinforcing the mother-daughter relationship. junior style show program accomplishment: as part of the six-year program in teaching skills (life, professional and social), the chapter participates each year in a style show. The event teaches the girls how to plan and execute an event, etiquette, communication, social and leadership skills. Members of the junior class, work with local retailers in selecting current fashion attire to borrow and coordinate with the event theme chosen by the committee. Formal invitations and response cards are mailed to members, to teach etiquette on proper and timely response to events. All active members (274) are invited to attend. Objective: this event provides the experience of learning etiquette, professional skills by planning the event, and leadership skills through public appearance and speaking. In addition, it provides the junior class the opportunity to inspire and encourage the younger members, as the girls look forward to the opportunity this event provides. grade level events program accomplishment: monthly meetings and a set number of events are held by each grade. Attendance requirements are set for the meetings and events, as participation is an important part of the ncl experience. Each class, with an average of 25 ticktockers and 3-4 glade level advisors, plan the activities and meetings for the year. Under the direction of the grade level advisors, the girls learn to plan and run meetings and events. Throughout the year, the girls (sometimes as combined classes or as a group) experienced activities such as personal safety and self-defense speaker, dinner and concert, and attendance to the stomp performance. In addition to volunteering time from a list of philanthropy groups chosen by the chapter, the girls select a class philanthropy project to support such as: toiletries for austin street shelter and supplies for friday night friends. Objective: each grade follows the ncl inc. Six-year program directing age appropriate goals for each grade level. The six-year program is organized for personal development (life skills), leadership development (professional skills), and cultural competency (social skills), while strengthening the mother-daughter relationship.

The chapter also makes philanthropic donations to local organizations during the year. Program accomplishment: all of these programs served to foster mother- daughter relationships while teaching etiquette and leadership skills.
