About 5 years ago, I was looking for a way to volunteer/"give back" in Georgetown. I read an ad about a book event/fundraiser for Assistance League-Georgetown Area and decided to find out more. Not only do we buy new school clothes for 1700 school children in need, we tutor local 2nd graders and give them new books, work with local Alzheimer's patients, and fund over $10,000 in scholarships for local graduating seniors. I am privileged to be a part of such a kind, generous, hard working group doing so much for our community! Check out our Thrift Shop, too! No employees...just volunteers working hard to make a difference!
