Programs: National Agricultural Aviation Research & Education Foundation (NAAREF) instituted the Professional Aerial Applicators Support System (PAASS) program in 1996. This is a program that educates pilots on key safety and drift minimization issues important to flying, modern agriculture, and crop protection. In 2002 a similar program for new pilots was begun called Compaass Rose. A roundtable discussion program of support and education for the spouses and significant others of aerial applicators was also begun in 2002 called the Athena Program.
