Mission: The mission of napsa is to strengthen adult protective services (aps) programsin order to improve the safety and independence of older persons and adults with disabilities who are victims of abuse, neglect, self- neglect, or financial exploitation.
Programs: Providing research, training, information and technical assistance on the prevention of abuse of the elderly and adults with disabilities who are victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation.
annual conference to educate professionals who work with older persons and adults with disabilities who are victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation on the prevention, detection, and intervention of abuse. Scholarships for individuals who would be not otherwise able to attend the conference is also provided.
conducted speaking engagements on the topic of abuse of elderly and adults with disabilities who are victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation, per request.
advocacy on the national level on legislation and policy development impacting older persons and disabled adults in need of adult protective services and the programs that serve this population.
