Programs: Family-to-family education - free class with 12 sessions taught with nami standardized curriculum by trained facilitators who have taken the class themselves, have loved ones who experience mental illness & have attended a training. 1 class of 12 sessions serving 27 families.
info & referral - warm line and email dedicated to responding to approximately 1,300 inquiries regarding families experiencing mental illness many in crisis. Though not a crisis line the nami warm line is often the first line of response to these families. A community resource manual is also made available.
awareness - educational presentations, presence in the community, events, eblasts of information given out to public about services offered and promote anti-stigma against mental illness; website completed and updated routinely; reached in excess of 2,000 people (not inc. Radio/tv engagements audience reached)
includes family support groups & connection support group. The latter is for persons with lived experience with mental illness and is facilitated by trained individuals who are peers themselves. Served over 400 individuals.
