I found the programs and services to be comprehensive and holistic for children, youth, and families. The persons that are served by this agency have experienced trauma from birth through adulthood. In the case of the women, the domestic violence they exprienced is only one trauma in their lives. MSP's programs improve the quality of life for battered women and their children in a meaningful and lasting manner.

I have had the opportunity to observe a period of growth and renewal at MSP. This remarkable period of organizational growth and development resulted in program and services expansion including a renovated/state of the art shelter as well as new and innovative programming which addresses many of the most pressing needs of indigent, homeless, battered women and their children. To facilitate this organizational growth and development, the agency brought in a time of consultants to offer the board and the staff a series of professional development opportunities designed to ensure that the team is equipped with knowledge of the best possible methods to assist battered women and their children. The agency launched comprehensive board and staff development initiatives because the then executive director knew that if MSP was to be a world class domestic violence agency as it aims to be--every agency representative must participate in knowledge gain on an on-going basis, regardless of their current proficiency. As a result of the skills-building initiatives, the agency's programs were enhanced and expanded with the goal of increasing the magnitude of care that is available for indigent homeless battered women and their children.
