My Seester Inc. is a great nonprofit organization that supports veterans transitioning out of service and through the challenges they face readjusting to the civilian lifestyle. I highly recommend them for supporting our veteran service member. Thank you for your service!
I FIRST MET MAKISSA THROUGH FACEBOOK SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. SHE WAS SUGGESTED AS A FRIEND IN MY PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW. WE SHARED 81 MUTUAL FRIENDS. HER ORGANIZATION My Seester Inc. APPEALED TO ME BECAUSE SHE MAKES A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO ASSIS THE FEMALE VETERAN VICTIMS OF (MST) OR MILTARY SEXUAL ASSAULTS.VERY OFTEN THE FEMALE VICTIMS OF THESE ATTACKS ARE GAS LIGHTED AND THEIR CLAIMS ARE DISCOUNTED AFTER COMING FORWARD. MAKISSA USES STRATEGIES TO JOIN WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO END THE IMPRISONMENT THEY FEEL BASED ON THE ASSAULT THEY SUFFERED. THOSE ALRENATIVE STRATEGIES LEAD THE VICTIMS BACK TO EMPOWERMENT AND BETTER EQUIPPED TO DEAL WITH THEIR LIVES. IN OTHER WORDS, SHE HELPS TO THEMTO LIVE BEYOND NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE AND START FINDING THEIR WAY BACK TO THEIR OWN LIVES AGAIN.
MySeester, extends itself to women who need emotional and physical support, but most especially to women veterans. It offers opportunities for skill development and camaraderie. It’s Director is herself a disabled combat veteran who has empathy and first hand experience in the challenges faced by women after their discharge from the military.
Makissa is a gem! And her entire Heart is poured into this nonprofit. I recently attended one of her events with my teenage daughter and we loved it! The therapeutic experience she provided was able to reach us both. If you ever see one of her events, please support! Female veterans, women, and young ladies are all welcomed in this safe space she has developed. We immersed ourselves in art, writing, deep thought and reflection which has still stuck with me now and will do the same for You!
Please help me salute Makissa Lewis, My Seester, Inc. and female vets across South Florida. I had the opportunity to pamper Makissa and members a week ago. Our pampering session turned into purpose as they shared information and resources with me that I hope to pass along to my customers and friends. You never know when you or someone you know might need shelter or mental health resources. It was an honor to serve these ladies in tribute to their service to our country. Please reach out to Makissa and My Seester, Inc. -Nyamusi Igambi, Senior Sales Director, Mary Kay
Very involved and engaged within the female Veteran community. I collaborated with the program to assist a homeless Veteran get registered with the VA and subsequently referred to the housing resources that they desperately needed.
Can’t describe how appreciative and proud I am for an organization like this to come through at a time like this, My Seester, you’re amazing and so thoughtful. As a veteran it is pretty hard to talk to non veterans because they haven’t experienced what you have. I feel that comfort thanks to you!!!!! Stay amazing and blessed

Makissa is running a wonderful organization! I met Makissa at an event on March 9 that she curated to celebrate Women & Veterans in lieu of Women’s History Month. There were guest speakers that shared their experiences and enlightenment through their journeys of life. Makissa made me feel very welcomed and I was able to network with some inspiring people.
MaKissa is a very amazing woman with a heart of Gold. MaKissa is truly the best at being very dedicated in reference to providing the Upmost Support to Women Veterans in the South FL Region. I'm very impressed with *The My Seester organization overall*. This is the best organization of its kind, and I highly recommend the services to all women Veteran's in the area.
To be a female veteran is to serve and protect a country that sees you as a second class citizen. It is to answer the highest calling of a country that will actively ignore your pleas for help.
My Seester is helping to fill in the gap for our female veterans who often go unseen and neglected. My Seester Inc says “We see you. We care. As you have fought for us, we shall fight for you”! The mission being embarked upon by this organization is critical. Female veterans deserve to be protected both on the battlefield and in their transition to civilian life.
We thank you My Seester for standing up for those who deserve it most.

It was a hot and muggy day as it always is in Florida. Makissa donated jeans for the Upcycled Thrifted Clothes table.she is a consummate. My Seester is her

I attended a fund raiser comedy show organized by the president of MySeester. It went very well and was a great success. Donations were received to help vulnerable Veterans in need. I was happy that I attended and was able to donate to the cause.
My Seester's President truly does go all out for the community. She gives out of her own pockets. For me, this organization has and continues to provide helpful information and a shoulder to cry on. Currently, I am in need of a new roof so after talking with My Seester 's President she started networking trying to assist me in finding agencies who could help. Since I am not a Post 911 Veteran, there are no organizations wanting to help me who could help. Well out of the blue, My Seester's President sent me information about a roofing company who was hosting an all era nationwide roofing contest for Veterans as a way of giving back. Now I would have liked to have gotten some money but I am still grateful to her. Her commitment to continue thinking of my needs and passing on the information is worth its weight in gold. She has nominated me and I have asked others to nominate me. So if you can feel it in your heart to give to a worthy organization, please give to My Seester. Every dime will be used to help all era female Veterans as none of us should be left behind.
