I've been apart of MSP for about 3.5 years and it has been one of the most impactful experiences I've had. It's been amazing being part of such a passionate and dedicated group working so hard to have an impact in our communities. Every year I am astounded on how much we accomplish as a small volunteer-based nonprofit, and I'm so excited to see MSP continue to grow and touch more lives.

In addition to providing amenities for the homeless community, it also functions to assist those who are seeking to get out of homelessness by providing connections to housing and job-skill classes to help ensure people’s living statuses are sustainable. This project and its members stand for a good cause.

MSP is a great project that provides resources for a homeless person to get either urgent help or to acquire skills to settle and find a job. The board members and volunteers put their hearts into the organization and make this happen without a physical facility or consistent funding—which is very impressive as it has continued to grow for several years.

I have volunteered with the Mustard Seed Project (MSP) for over three years now. Throughout the pandemic, I have thoroughly enjoyed continuing outreach virtually since joining the MSP volunteer service navigation team! It has been a gratifying experience helping file taxes to get stimulus checks and also submitting online applications for other benefits as COVID has made it difficult for everyone, especially individuals who are houseless, to access resources both in-person and over the phone. I am always inspired working with such a wonderful, dedicated, and compassionate group of volunteers!

I have been with Mustard Seed Project for over two years now, first as a general volunteer, then as the UCSD Chapter's Design Chair, and now as Director of Operations. When I first joined MSP, what stood out to me most was the passion for service held by all of the volunteers. They all showed a strong desire for long-lasting change and excitement for the organization's mission, which inspired me to get more involved. I highly recommend this organization for anyone looking to volunteer to make an impact in their community!

I have worked with MSP for a little over a year now from being on the university chapter level as a general member and on the executive board, to now being apart of the leadership team. What inspired me to join Mustard Seed Project is that they go beyond giving as they strive to build meaningful connections with all members of our community. I had joined this organization right before the global pandemic hit; MSP's operations had changed due to safety protocols. To see the members of this club persevere and safely and creatively fundraise for our Community Relief Fund was inspiring. This organization is full of compassionate individuals, to be apart of this team is to be apart of something worthwhile. I am thankful to be apart of this team and excited to see what we all accomplish together!

When I first heard about MSP, I was simply amazed to hear how dedicated, hard-working, and passionate a group of individuals were while working together to combat chronic homelessness. One of the reasons why I wanted to be a part of this nonprofit was because I was extremely inspired by the stories shared by the volunteers and board members. I’ve been a part of MSP since October 2020, and I do not have enough words to describe how grateful I am to see first-hand how we, as an organization, have grown despite the COVID-19 lockdown. The energy and dedication from each member in MSP is so contagious that I cannot wait to see everything we can accomplish together in the near future!!

I have been part of the Mustard Seed Project for 2 years (and starting my third!). In that time I have been a general member, an executive board member, and now am the co-director of service navigation. I have been involved in MSP as every level of member and I can genuinely say that my experience with MSP has been one of the most life changing experiences I have been blessed to experience. Everyone in this club from top to bottom is so passionate about helping others and it shows in the work that they do. This organization is one of true compassion, and every aspect of the organization is dedicated to truly making the world a better place. Through their advocation for basic human rights, to their fundraising, to their service navigating, to their volunteering, MSP is truly life changing.

Working with MSP for the past years has been such a pleasurable experience. As we distributed food that we made to the homeless, I loved connecting with my community and listening to their stories. I feel so proud to be a part of the MSP family, and I cannot wait to see MSP grow even more!

When I began my role with MSP during the summer of 2019 at the university chapter level, I could have never imagined the impact that this organization would have on not only the community but myself. MSP is a family, and with all of our shared values I am confident that we will exceed our mission and goals to better assist those in our communities. I feel lucky to have been a part of MSP's growth process and just cannot wait to see all that we can accomplish together in the future for the individuals who need us the most.

I've been a part of MSP for nearly a year and the level of leadership, dedication, and responsibility the organization upholds never cease to surprise me. As a rising grassroots organization, I've seen first hand at how our organization can do so much based on the direct relationships with our friends in the community whether it may be from our neighbors we help support, our partners who always share their guidance, or even our volunteer members that help us to building the network of trust and growth. When the lockdown from COVID-19 began, I was amazed how the members of the board immediately initiated their attention to servicing our community and expressing their consistent concern to our friends as many of the common resources were becoming high barrier due to the quarantine restrictions. The project has a stronghold of values that is amazingly reflected in their commitment to the community!!

Knew about MSP for a year before I was able to get involved. Once I did I was able to see all the work that goes into everything. MSP focuses on teaching volunteers more about the specifics of homelessness/ways for sustainable change (ways to provide hand-ups not hand-outs) and emphasizes a person-first approach with the homeless individuals they work with. The structure of volunteering is very innovative and allows for relationship-focused service navigation and outreach projects. I’ve learned lots and have been able to experience so much. Excited to see how much more it grows!

I've worked with Mustard Seed Project for about two and a half years now. This org is so near and dear to my heart because something that this community does so well is: listening. We really try to take the time to listen to individual stories of our friends we help support. I have loved being apart of this warm and welcoming community.

I've been a part of MSP since 2018 and from the college chapter level to the leadership level, this project does so much for the community. MSP takes a unique, relationship-based approach to helping our neighbors experiencing homelessness and it could not be more effective. I am so so so excited to see MSP continue to grow and I am so thankful to be a part of that growth.

Best homeless outreach organization I’ve been apart of. Dedicated volunteers and students who wish to see individuals experiencing homeless housed and get the resources needed for each respective situation. Amazing case management and love from everyone in this group!

I started out as a regular volunteer at the UCSD chapter, after finding one of their flyers around campus. I joined their Research Committee that does weekly outreach and collect testimonials in downtown San Diego. Eventually, I was able to lead my own outreach shift. I decided to join the board at this nonprofit because in all my time as a volunteer, I have never seen a group of people more dedicated or hard-working as the ones from MSP. They wholehearted believe in their mission of solving community homelessness. Their dedication inspired me to do the same. My only hope is that my contributions would be enough to take us far in our mission.
