Mission: The musselshell valley community foundation (mvcf) is committed to enhancing the vitality of the musselshell valley with a yearly grant program as well as managing the funds for special projects.
Programs: The mvcf served as the fiscal sponsor of the annual roundup independence days extravaganza (ride) which includes a children's rodeo, family entertainment and activities and a theater production serving approximately 4,000 individuals.
the mvcf served as the fiscal sponsor for the musselshell county recovery team (mcrt) which was established to receive donations and disburse payments to individuals affected by the 2011 flood of the musselshell river. The mcrt expanded its mission in 2012 to include individuals affected by the fires that devastated a portion of musselshell county in 2012 and additional flooding in 2013.
the mvcf provided funding opportunities to five different non-profits in musselshell valley communities by enhancing worthwhile community vitality projects as well as issuing grants to local non-profits. In 2017, mvcf awarded five different grants that will benefit the community and our future generations. These grants were made to the following: musselshell extension office for lab kits in the amount of 939. 34; melstone community garden in the amount of 4,015. 21; rcp for brochures to accompany the historic walking tour in the amount of 1,175. 00; central montana head start for car seats in the amount of 1,004. 71; and musselshell valley historical museum for nf cabin in the amount of 1,000.
mvcf agreed to fiscally sponsor the roundup community stage project that was formed to raise funds to build a community stage in roundup city park. The bulk of construction was completed two years ago but some additional construction was completed this year. It was used for multiple events including an event in conjunction with ride serving approximately 4,000 people. (grants: 0. 00 expenses: 2,735. 54). The arts & culture committee (a&c) of the musselshell valley community foundation continued its role of sponsoring or hosting local events to entertain, engage, and stimulate people of all ages. A&c members also continued work on the riverwalk trail. (grants: 0. 00 expenses: 2,050. 00). Mvcf also agreed to sponsor the roundup community partners in their goal of revitalizing roundup. (grants: 500. 00 expenses: 1,960. 75) mvcf agreed to sponsor the swimmers forever with their goal of renovating and re-opening the community center's indoor pool. (grants: 0 expenses: 200. 67)
