Mission: The Museum of Universal Self Expression is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts and social service organization. We provide a haven in which psychiatric survivors may discover and develop their own creative processes. We provide a place where art making is practiced in order to inspire personal growth and healing, to enhance interpersonal understanding, to reduce stress, and to manifest social changes, such as eliminating the stigma associated with mental illnesses. By providing creative enrichment opportunities M.U.S.E contributes to the quality of life and opens a variety of possibilities for the Chicago community and beyond.
