Mission: The museum of science and history of jacksonville ("mosh") inspires the joy of lifelong learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history.

Programs: Exhibits - the museum has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for northeast florida for over 70 years by collecting, preserving, and actively interpreting the region's cultural and natural history. 2013-14, the museum hosted 109,587 visitors for its numerous exhibits, which included the great balls of fire, the green revolution ii, megaladon, shipwreck, science culture initiative, local art exhibits, atlantic trails, jea aqua exp, water worlds, the body within, among other exhibits.

education and programs - the museum served approximately 45,000 public, private and home school students in 2013-14, which was more than double the duval county public school students than the museum served than in 2012-2013. The museum also served the community by hosting various programs, which includes spring, summer, and winter camps, mosh after dark, and a lego competition as part of its mission to be a cultural, education, and recreational resource for the community. In total, the museum served 188,306 people through its education and program intitiatives in 2013-2014.

planetarium - in october 2010, the museum constructed a planetarium in an effort to further its mission of inspiring the joy of learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history of north florida. In 2013, the museum had 36,975 visitors view its planetarium shows on the earth moon sun, astronauts, black holes, dinosaurs at dusk, the season of light, and various other planetarium .
