Mission: MAAC IS A COLLABORATIVE COMMITTED TO CREATING INNOVATIVE APPROACHES THAT ADVANCE LIFE-CHANGING RESULTS FOR GEORGIA'S YOUTH AND FAMILIES AT RISK.
Programs: The network - room, board and watchful oversight (rbwo) the network used eight member agencies as well as non-member agencies for placement of children and adolescents, all of which are private nonprofit. With our partner agencies, maac is able to provide a full continuum of services ranging from, but not limited to, intensive psychiatric care, adoptions to residential group homes, therapeutic foster care and maternity care. Maac receives a capitated rate in order to provide placement as well as additional support services for children and adolescents who are placed within the continuum ensuring that youth are able to maintain in the most appropriate and lowest level of care. Maac is a statewide program and receives referrals from georgias division of family & children services and the department of juvenile justice.
the network - high fidelity wraparound - maac incorporates the high fidelity wraparound model when working with youth who are in parental custody as well as in the child welfare system. Specifically, this process utilizes community-based treatment for youth with a serious emotional disturbance (sed) diagnosis. Maac primarily receives referrals from view point health.
georgia youth opportunities initiative - in addition to network services, maac has the georgia youth opportunities initiative which encompasses the georgia empowerment group. Georgia empowerment is one of the five strategies of the georgia youth opportunity initiative. Maac also provides administrative oversight for two additional strategies which are the community partnership group and the self-evaluation team. Other key partners are the jim casey youth opportunities initiative, the community foundation of greater atlanta, and the georgia department of family and children services. Georgia empowerment consists of current and former foster youth ages 14-26 that grew up in foster care in the state of georgia. Maac offers support for these young advocates by providing coordination and administrative oversight to support their advocacy efforts. Activities include regional tribal development, state advocacy, court improvement, and youth support.
