Causes: Human Services
Mission: To create and support independence for mature adults (senior citizens) and educate younger people on the significance of trust, respect and integrity within self and the global community and to provide grants to organizations who have the staff, abilities, and resources to help senior citizens sustain or regain their independence.
Programs: The mr. Goodcents foundation's mission is senior independence. Our primary focus is improving how seniors' live and age through improving access to what seniors want and need. To accomplish our mission, we work with communities to sustain, expand and improve transportation and mobility options to help seniors. Specific areas of support in 2014 included:greater mobility network - support of year 2014 to start a volunteer driver effort in eastern jackson county, mo. Itn america developed the model to serve older adults. Group trips for seniors visiting museums, holiday lights and other fun "day adventures". Over 1,000 trips were provided. Support for shepherd's center northland to help seniors reach needed destinations and receive other services. In 2013, shepherd center provided over 4,000 round trips to help seniors. Support for transportation to seniors to reach community center for social activities. Estimated that over 250 seniors will benefit from taxi coupons to reach community center.
