I went to MPAACT's production of "Bodies" last night at The Greenhouse Theater Center. The evening was impromptu with my father-in-law and we just decided to take in a play. I was incredibly impressed with the cast. They were fabulous actors who drew me into the story immediately. The staging was effective and the 75 minute play without intermission held my attention throughout. Obviously their backing by the Joyce, Drieshaus. amd Donnelley Foundations, along with the Illinois Arts Council, is evidence that this company is doing really great performances in their mission to share their knowledge of Afrikan and Afrikan-American culture. There were only 5 people in the audience last night - a HORRIBLE turnout for such a well-done production. I encourage the public to come see what these fine young actors have to offer.
