The team for the multifamily efforts is second to none and they have become our close friends. They help build momentum in the moving industry for companies like ourselves to ask our customers to donate their non-perishable foods when they move. With their support - millions of pounds of food have been donated to local Food Banks.
Move For Hunger is run by people who truly care about making a difference in ending food insecurity for good. The innovative initial idea was brilliant and has made a significant impact in so many people's lives... and they've continued to grow along with the increasing demand caused by socioeconomic issues and the covid19 pandemic, always looking for new avenues to secure both funds and unused food to help feed our neighbors, friends, family and coworkers.
My corporation has participated in Front Porch Food Drives, Shark Week food/fundraisers and more. It's fun, it's the right thing to do, and it continues to raise awareness about this terrible problem. Even better, my company participates in 1:1 matching of funds donated.

Move for Hunger is an incredible organization fighting to eliminate food insecurity in the U.S. Through food drives, fundraising, and other charitable efforts, the Move for Hunger team is constantly finding creative ways to bring in donations and support to the local food banks. I am proud to share that I manage the incredible partnership between my company AVE and Move For Hunger, which is now in its sixth year. When our company leadership first met Move For Hunger founder Adam, they were inspired by his passion and simple solution to a large problem -- reducing food insecurity in our communities. As a leader in temporary housing and property management, AVE, like Lowy's Moving, serves people on the move and when people move, unused food sadly ends up in landfills. Adam's simple solution of having moving companies handle the logistics of getting that food from the mover to the food banks makes a huge difference and provides cost savings to the food banks. We currently own and operate 13 residential properties and because of our partnership with Move For Hunger, we have a partnership with moving companies who visit our properties on a regular rotation to pick up food that we collect from our residents when they move out and then drop it off at the local food pantries. We also host an annual food drive before Thanksgiving and organize fund-raisers like raffles and truck pulls. It makes our team members feel so good to know they are giving back to the community and making a difference. The Move For Hunger team works passionately to grow their network, constantly recruiting more property management companies and corporate housing providers to increase their impact. Move For Hunger has become part of our company culture, and we are so proud of that!
Move for Hunger is an amazing organization that helps fight hunger. Last year they donated 5 million pounds of food and had 700 food drive. They work with relocation companies to reduce food waste and fight hunger! I have had the opportunity to work with them and hold my own food drive for my local community and it has been nothing short of amazing!
MoveForHunger is my favorite charity for food insecurity! They always host fun events which really engage the community. We even did a truck pull in Detroit which had hundreds of people show up and the local radio station.

Move For Hunger is a great organization. They partner with national and local household good movers and when people are moving or relocating to a new city or state, the drivers collect the customer's food the customer does not want transported and donate the food to local food banks. This is really giving back to the community and helping families and children with food insecurities!
Move for Hunger is the most passionate non-profit I've worked with. Their mission is not complicated....help feed those in need. Simple right? Not so much. The network M4H has set up and continues to build on is very complex with many moving parts to help their cause. From outward appearances it all seems to run very smooth, but it takes a village and the team M4H has assembled to address hunger is passionate, focused, determined and ultimately, a joy to be a part of.
I've worked alongside this organization for years as a supporter. Their mission is centered around a creative solution to ending hunger that is a win-win-win, resulting in tens of millions of meals for those in need. I have learned so much about hunger issues by fundraising with them, and appreciate that they take a nuanced perspective that recognizes the specific needs of marginalized communities. They really take care of their supporters, providing so many resources and support when you are part of their campaigns.
Pillar Properties was one of the first companies to pilot the Move For Hunger Multi-Family program back in 2016 and has remained a loyal partner of this organization for more than four years. Move For Hunger not only brought a missed opportunity to light, but provided a seamless solution that makes a difference.
Through this program, when a resident at one of our apartment residences moves out, they don’t have to hassle with moving the food in their kitchen. Move For Hunger provides bags to collect the items and organizes pickups to donate the nonperishable food to local food banks. This process not only eliminates possible food waste, it gets the food to the people in our community who need it most.

Move For Hunger has instituted one of the most novel ways to combat a critical mission (hunger) I've personally ever encountered. I first learned about Move For Hunger a few years ago from a supplier partner who shared the value they brought in creating sustainability and a cost savings in our Global Talent Mobility program. The simple idea to rescue food from our employees who are relocating in order to serve the food insecure made business sense, and also created an opportunity to positively engage our employees. My passion to make a difference and on corporate social responsibility lead me to be the inaugural Corporate Action Network (CAN) Committee Chair in 2019, educating others about Move For Hunger and engaging the Global Talent Mobility industry in participating in food drives and other fundraising events. In 2019 we held a truck pull in Portland raising over $25,000. As Move For Hunger has continued to grow they have expanded their footprint beyond the Global Talent Mobility industry, while continuing to make a meaningful impact in the local communities where we all live and work. It warms my heart to continue to be involved in Move For Hunger year after year. The need continues to grow and I would highly recommend your becoming involved as a Move For Hunger champion!

Its been 10 years that I have been involved with Move For Hunger. As a supplier to the Moving Industry I became involved first as a cheerleader- bringing the founder Adam to Mover Associations etc and banging the drum for their non profit and its perfect fit with the Moving Industry . As time has gone on I have become a stronger supporter and seen them do incredible things to feed the Hungry in America. They are creative in their approach to the issue at hand and always find interesting and fulfilling ways for their partners to participate . Its never just a " feel good" process but always involves planning team building, and project management which helps their partners grow with the task at hand.
Finally- their founder and Executive Director has become a friend but I can candidly say he really is loved in the moving industry ( and probably in the corporate housing industry and other things he touches) mainly because he eats sleeps and breathes his passion for the cause. That has helped him create a great staff that "do great things together".
