Mountains Move

I have had great experiences with this program and this group. I found purpose, camaraderie, but most importantly of all, Jesus. Thank to this organization, it's donors, staff and their families for sacrificing to help us all come home where we belong. Thank you Mountains Move!

I had achieved more than I ever thought possible, yet found myself alone and lost looking back on the wreckage I created.
Spending a week with nature, isolated from the chaos, guided by an expert, I found my way back to my purpose. Mountains Move filled my soul with restoration, renewed my faith and refocused my energy towards a purpose-driven life.

Mountains Move was such an incredible experience for me. The staff and group leaders were so welcoming and patient as we worked through the week-long program. The entire experience was absolutely amazing, from the outdoor activities, to the mustang experience and then the group discussion - all were pivotal in creating a healing atmosphere. I simply cannot say enough great things about Mountains Move!

Mountains Move is one of the most amazing groups I've ever encountered. You wouldn't believe what a life changing week they offer to well deserving veterans. My company works with them to provide experiences of a lifetime. 100% paid for by Mountains Move. The change I've seen in the veterans who've attended from the first day to the last is nothing short of a miracle. Hands down this is a most deserving non profit!

This nonprofit embodies so many wonderful characteristics that reflect its mission in supporting veterans. The staff are dedicated to respecting, honoring, supporting, and ministering to every guest as an individual and they really go the distance in providing an optimal experience. Mountains Move is a wonderful organization run by wonderful people. It is simple as that

Mountains Move is an excellent 501(c)(3) that restores Veterans sense of purpose, restores trust, and helps with all sorts of PTSD and suicidal ideations that some veterans have returning from wars overseas. This is a hands on program that does these men and women actual good. This program has changed peoples' lives for the better. If you are looking for a charity to donate to, I highly recommend this one!

Mountains Move was amazing. They did so much for me getting me there and keeping me engaged. I loved everything they did and how they truly pour into you with love and grace and wisdom and expose you to such amazing sights and activities. Heath and others are doing such an amazing job there and I can’t recommend it enough to other veterans looking to find Christ and find purpose and find a renewed sense of self, which also includes accountability and brotherhood. The crew has and continues to be amazing and I can’t wait to keep being engaged and volunteer in the future in something I truly believe

Mountains Move provides both men and women vets an opportunity to soak in God's Majesty by participating in life-giving experiences in the mountains of central Colorado for a week to gain new perspective and discover where our real hope comes from; our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By hiking, kayaking, riding horses and watching the stars at night, your mind is calmed enough to help you focus on what's most important in life. If you have the opportunity to spend time away in the mountains to gain a fresh perspective on whatever you are struggling with, consider applying to Mountains Move. It will be what you didn't even know you needed and then some.

Mountains Move. What a fitting name. I came as a broken woman, who has walked through the majority of my life without Jesus. This week renewed my love for Him and showed me the importance of community and connection. It showed me women who all have a story to tell, and how God showed up in their lives. And it made me feel less alone. The mountains were beautiful and serve as a reminder that we can overcome the mountains in our own lives. I prayed through a gambling addiction that has plagued me for years, and I gave it all to God with the strength of my sisters behind me. I prayed through a marijuana weakness and God strengthened my resolve. God introduced me to a cousin I never knew, and He encouraged me to leave my guilt and shame over my family troubles behind. This week empowered me, and showed me that Jesus is where all my doubts and fears for the future are released. All in all, it was a blessed week that I will remember forever, and I'll take the lessons learned for the rest of my life. Thank you, Mountains Move!

I have been supporting and volunteering with Mountains Move for almost a year now. They have been so welcoming in allowing me to fulfill the purpose God has for me serving Veterans and their families. The Mountains Move team is continually improving their programs and expanding their capacity to reach Veterans in need. I have seen first hand the lives they have touched and saved in many cases. I am humbled and honored to volunteer for the unique and special nonprofit.

The Mountains Move team has had a tremendous impact for many folks in need of help at critical junctures in life. Their mission to help veterans in particular comes at a time when many of our nation’s heroes are suffering and struggling to find understanding and support that goes further than a pat on the back and a listening ear. Mountains Move goes much further than that by providing mentally, emotionally, and physically engaging environments of natural beauty, and the difficult but rewarding task of training a mustang to get people back in touch with their core being, with their sense of purpose and duty, and most importantly, with their relationships with other people and with their Creator. Heath and his team have a true heart for this work, and have the backgrounds to be effective here, despite the tremendous difficulty of terrain. It’s apparent to those of us who have been aware of Mountains Move from its inception a few years back, that the Lord has richly blessed the colossal effort and heart that has been exerted here. Lives have truly been changed through this program.

As a friend and supporter of Mountains Move I have personally seen the tremendous work they do in the lives of veterans and families. Heath, his family, and the Mountains Move team have a deep passion for helping veterans encounter God in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Colorado mountains in order to address roadblocks, lies, and painful setbacks in their lives. They have personal experience and insight into understanding the unique trials and perspectives of veterans and are dedicating their lives to meeting them where they are in their battles with hard things. They are humble, deeply compassionate, and non- judgmental towards veterans and the unique challenges they face. Mountains Move helps veterans meet God in the midst of trials, and their lives are being changed as truth replaces lies and healing begins to restore the broken places in their hearts and souls. I recommend this program for veterans individually or with their families.

I was so blessed to be chosen to participate in the very beginnings of the Journey program with Mountains Move! Heath and the entire MM team, along with his wife Rachel and their amazing family helped make the entire experience one of the most memorable and life changing weeks that I have ever experienced. The planning and preparation that went into each day on the Journey was intentional and appreciated.

If you have the opportunity to take part in one of the programs that the MM team offers, I believe that you will feel the same! Even being a prayer warrior for the ministry or donating funds to help others be able to take part in this life-changing ministry is important and critical in supporting the mission of Mountains Move.

My journey with Mountains Move will forever be a milestone week in the timeline of my life. It marks a pivot from a path of destruction, so slow that only those close to me would notice, but I could feel it in every part of my being and it was excruciating. I am so grateful to the Lord for His miracles and how the entire Mountains Move team enabled me to heal, while letting go of so much that was holding me back in my life. My pause on purpose came at the perfect time!

I have known the Wharton family since at least 1999. When Heath began this ministry in Colorado, I just knew I had to come for a visit. But my visit wasn't just catching up on old times. It was truly a journey about the magnificence of God and just how awesome and powerful He is. Many times in the Bible, from Mount Sinai to Mount Nebo and other significant high mountains, God shows Himself to mankind. And although He didn't audibly speak to me. that whole week I heard Him in the wind, saw Him in the mountains, and stood in awe of His wonderful creation. I wish I could have stayed an entire month.

If you are on a spiritual journey where you have seen setbacks or things have happened in your life that you would rather forget .. struggles that you have just continually been a part of for way too long, Mountains Move is something you have to consider. You will not regret it.

Mountains Move is led by a group of people who pursue their mission with great care and attention to the guests and families they serve. They have a thoughtful process to ensure they meet their guests in the ways their guests most need and they can best serve them. They are located in an incredible area to provide respite in creation that is wonderful to explore or to sit and watch. They are led by experience and passion and care to pursue excellence.

I had not participated in any veteran oriented program before I chose to apply to Mountains Move. I was not looking for a place to go an lament over war stories. I wanted an opportunity for a genuine reset that included a faith based conversation that could help pickup where my own analytical approach and bootstrap mentality had stopped. I had gotten to a point where I was at a much better place than I had been before, but still felt that something was missing from my life. Heath and the team at Mountains Move were welcoming and made ever step of the process feel like heading into the back country with friends. There is a plain and consistent message about what the teams feels is a true and everlasting solution to some of the problems combat veterans face. It is not in your face or overpowering, but it is present in their mission and how they go about achieving it. It was exactly what I was looking for. I walked away with a sense of calm, relaxed peace, and new friends I expect to have for the rest of my life. They still stay in touch and are invested in your outcomes. I’m not a joiner. I don’t participate in things with ease, but this was definitely the thing to take a risk on and it definitely paid off.

One of the objectives of Mountains Move is to assist Christ followers figure out why they may be spiritually lost or to enrich their relationship with God to ascertain what plans the Lord has in their future. Each spiritual journey is a one-on-one program with a spiritual mentor who can help believers uncover the lies they may be believing that creates ruts in their life. By exposing these inhibiting ruts, a God-loving person can create trenches of truth that can renew their relationship with God.

Personally, I did not know what to expect. After being critically injured thrice on active duty, multiple suicide attempts, three marriages and two nervous breakdowns, I knew my life of being distant from God was killing me slowly. Coming to terms with my closeness of death, I found our loving God waiting to take me back. After completing a BA in Biblical Counseling, I now counsel anyone who lives a "wild-life" as I once did. Thus, I did not know why I was attending Mountains Move except the Spirit led me to Heath and the entire organization. While most people find themselves and rekindle their relationship with God during their times with Mountains Move, I already had a close relationship, yet I was still drawn to attend.

Talking with Heath, listening to his story, and what Mountains Move was doing for Christians punched my ticket into figuring out why I was there...I was there to help Mountains Move by continuing my divinely blessed gift to mentor, counsel, and spread the news on the victories that God has blessed Mountains Move with. The Lord works through Mountains Move to reach lost or stumbling souls, as a shepherd does his sheep, to bring them back close to God. I have vowed my support to Mountains Move and will be just a phone call away, day or night, when they need assistance with projects, problems, or just prayers. I look forward to working side by side with Mountains Move in future functions to counsel and mentor the sheep the shepherd rescues from the wolves in sheep's clothing.

Mountains Move epitomizes Matthew 17:20, "Jesus said to them, “Because you have so little faith. For sure, I tell you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to over there,’ and it would move over. You will be able to do anything (NLV). Combining nature with faith, Christians can step back from the hustle bustle of everyday life while looking inward to find, fix, and flourish a new beginning with their heavenly Father. Mountains Move provides the location, atmosphere, and knowledge to assist those lost souls who desire to rejoin us at the Lord's table! Come back to nature; come back to reality; come back to Jesus!

I am the farrier for Mountains Move and they are a wonderful organization that has the wellbeing of there horses at the heart of there priorities! As well as there mission to help veterans. They are extremely passionate about their mission! They are extremely dedicated to training there mustangs, Carbon and Denali, Carbon has come such a long way and he is a extremely impressive willing to learn horse who has been very well trained by Heath!! All of there animals are very loved!!

I spent the week with Mountains Move and experienced great outdoors adventures that served as a backdrop for thinking through some hard questions that needed resolving. I came away with some practical solutions and the space the week created was just what I needed. Heath and Emily curated a week that spoke to my heart and paired me with a wild Mustang who, incidentally, had some of the same personality quirks that I do and I was able to get her to trust me a little during the week. Powerful analogies...

Highly recommend doing a Journey or Summit with MM!!!

Since getting involved with Mountains Move I have been impressed with their love for what they do and for those they serve. The staff works hard with planning and executing programs, logistics, and horses. It’s a lot of work but they do it well and joyfully. They are great stewards of all that the Lord provides and make sure expenditures are necessary and the best value.

Mountains Move is a high quality organization with a high quality mission. They truly care about their guests and seek to make a lasting difference in their lives. They provide exceptional Colorado outdoor experiences as well as time for reflection that encourages people to face their mountains. Highly recommend!
