Mission: We provide communications for public safety agencies in mountain terrain and rugged conditions, particularly when multiple agencies and organizations need to be coordinated on a variety of frequencies. We are also the communications section for the City of Portland technical rescue team, Multnomah County EMS, and American Medical Response.
In nearly every SAR incident, the agencies responding do not have compatible radios or are out of reach of critical resources such as hospitals and evacuation aircraft. Mountain Wave can help - we link the organizations together by offering communications equipment and personnel on multiple frequencies, both manually and automatically.
Our primary mission is to provide communications support for search and rescue missions, ranging from tactical communications in technical rescue situations with a handful of rescuers, to large-scale systems for multi-day search operations covering large regions and hundreds of people. Our secondary mission is to provide communications for natural disasters and other emergencies, as requested by the public safety agencies we support.
