Mission: To promote, through the mutual cooperation of its members, the intelligent and orderly harvest of the bering sea and aleutian islands pollock directed fishing allowance for the mothership sector that is allocated to members; reduce waste and improve resource utilization in these fisheries; reduce the incidental catch of non-target species in these fisheries; to promote the adoption and continued support of resource utilization and conservation agreements and management policies with these objectives; to attend north pacific fishery management council meetings from time to time and to summarize and disseminate information regarding the same; and to facilitate scientific research and publication concerning north pacific fishing issues, particularly those related to the commercial fisheries of the bering sea and aleutian island areas.
Programs: To promote orderly and efficient harvest of pollock, minimization of non-target species bycatch, and responsible management of certain fisheries off alaska through member agreement and research.
