I joined MCOG 6 years ago and have been involved with the organization on several levels, from co-chair to President and many things in between. I originally joined because I wanted a way to "give back" to my community. Not only have I accomplished that goal, but I have gotten back so much from MCOG. The lessons I have learned in my time with MCOG have been invaluable and the friendships made immeasurable. In addition, my kids have learned what it means to help others and have been involved in many of the MCOG events. MCOG is a fantastic organization and definitely worthy of your time!
Joined Mothers Club of Geneva as a way to meet women in the area. Was thrilled to find out how involved MCOG really is in the community. A large focus is helping families in need. From organizing drives for school supplies & breakfast items for the students at Geneva High School, purchasing gifts for struggling families at Christmas, supplying food for the local food pantries to volunteering at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Herbies Friends. I loved the feeling of knowing I was helping local families. Honestly, I didn't realize there was such a large need in our small community. In addition, MCOG organizes two large fundraisers to provide monetary donations to local charities; LivingWell, Mooseheart, Fox Valley Hospice and Lazarus House to name a few. MCOG's Scholarship program is significant, awarding as many as ten $1000 scholarships to Geneva students. It is truly amazing how this small group of women can organize such wonderful fundraising events. It is great to see everyone come together to make it a success. Along with the philanthropic initiatives, MCOG provides social opportunities for members and their families. It is a wonderful organization. I am proud to be a part of Mothers Club of Geneva.
Mothers Club of Geneva provided me with the opportunity to serve our community and provide meals, Christmas gifts for needy families within our school district area. It gave me, and my family, awareness of the needs within our small town that we do not see on a regular basis.mothers Club also provided me with much needed social interaction and activities right after our relocation to Geneva.great group of women with a greater philanthropic mission.
