Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals
Mission: To care for the lost and unwanted animals of morrison county and to find them forever homes through education and community awareness.
Programs: During 2017, the morrison county animal humane society (mcahs) took in many animals. Throughout the year the staff participated in several outreach programs and were also active in various fundraising events, parades, and celebrations as well as other public awareness activities and are now working with the initiative foundation to explore new social enterprise ideas for better stability. This year we also overcame unforeseen adversity. The humane society endured a severe wind storm that wasn't fully covered by insurance. Along with this, there was a severe cat illness that caused the facility to be shut down for two weeks. Although these were costly events, the morrison county humane society overcame them.
