Programs: Grants program creating philanthropic legacies in montgomery county is at the core of mccfs work. The grants program matches the donor's passion to improve the quality of life for county residents with nonprofits in and serving montgomery county residents through its donor advised funds, field of interest funds, agency and designated agency funds, and unrestricted funds. Quality of life legacies span the arts, healthcare, human services, the environment and animal welfare. The 2017 grant cycle financed 48 programs operated by 30 nonprofits. The grant awards fed the hungry, provided school supplies and clothing to low income students, traded professionals in horse therapy, first aid and trust-based relational intervention, meals on wheels for the elderly, a mobile dental bus offering preventative dental services, transportation assistance, medical and dental care for homeless families, preservation of montgomery county history, seeded innovative and creative classroom instructions, therapy for veterans suffering from ptsd and msat, secured housing, jobs and transportation for paroles in a 12 month re-entry program, supported the arts, updated a parenting skills education program and added childcare during classes, maintained memory park in montgomery, summer camp for foster children, and much more.

scholarship program post high school education, whether through college or technical schools, builds strong communities. Legacy scholarships through mccf ensures that donors education passions continue to create opportunities for local students, some of whom are high school seniors and other who are at lone star college. This annual program pays scholarships directly to the educational institution on the students behalf. Mccf awarded 9 local students scholarships in 2017 to a variety of high educational institutions.
