Mission: Montana safety services council, inc. (mssc) is dedicated to the enhancement of the region's safety culture through education and training programs. Our goal is to serve and assist business owners, contractors, laborers, as well as the general public to advance and improve workers safety knowledge. We strive to reduce worker fatalities and injuries resulting in a reduction in workers compensation insurance costs and to enhance productivity.
Programs: Training lab: the training lab provides mssc with a facility to perform computer based training for its members and non-members employees. Training modules offered include: local refinery site specific orientations, c-stop, and a variety of other courses made available by the houston area safety council,alliance safety council and safety source, llc. During the fiscal year ended may 31, 2018, over 7,100 courses were taken in the computer lab.
on-site training: mssc provides on-site training at the members/non-members place of business allowing for customized training to meet specific needs. Training offerings include: cpr/first-aid, c-stop, defensive driving, forklift instruction, hazwoper, safety awareness and others. During fiscal year 2018, eight different course offerings were conducted for 28 different businesses.
public training: mssc offers public training in the following areas; cpr/first aid, forklift instruction, hazwoper and osha 300. Over 20 training were offered during fiscal year 2018 with nearly 290 participants attending.
