Mission: Mission Statement: The Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake has set the following goals as the primary mission of this organization.1. To foster leadership and cooperation within the state of Montana for scientific, mathematical, engineering and technology education stakeholders.2. To serve as a resource to the Montana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM), the Montana Science Teachers Association (MSTA), the Montana Science Institute (MSI), and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OPI) for high quality professional growth opportunities.3. To communicate ideas, research, initiatives and trends in mathematics and science education to the citizens of Montana.4. To work with OPI, MSI, MCTM, and MSTA, to develop, support and provide student programs in mathematics, science and integrated learning.5. To establish a nationally recognized center of excellence for teachers and students of Mathematics and Science.6. To improve the mathematics and science performance of all Montana students. To support, improve, develop, and disseminate high quality teaching materials with emphasis on students from high poverty areas.7. To work with all curricula in Montana to strengthen education.8. To coordinate educational activities with Federal State and local agencies including but not limited to the Bureau of Reclamation, the Forest Service, and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.
Programs: The montana learning center provides educational programs for students ranging from first graders to adults. Our institute and residence camps are based on a common goal of understanding mathematics, science and natural resources. Students learn that science and mathematics are tools for improving our understanding of the world.
