I have known Teresa of Moneytalk Financial Foundations since we were in college together at UM-KC. She thrives on helping people. She has gone above and beyond to help her clients who are struggling to make a better life for themselves. She has taken the time to learn her trade, apply her Christian values to the work she does and she does it all with a smile, even when there are days she would rather just cry. I have been making financial donations to her organization because I believe in the work she is providing. She truly is giving a hand up and not a hand out to her clients. She works with young minds teaching financial values and habits to assist in their success; the incarcerated so they have a better chance of not repeating their history; those young single moms who are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives and provide a better and stable life for their children and of course, the community drives to provide for schools and the community needs. Whenever Teresa is not helping others, she is helping others by seeking support for her organization so she and her organization can do more. She needs a crown for her good deeds!

I attended the six-week class, Moneytalk Academy, about 2 years ago. And I have been continually blessed since then. Moneytalk has supplied my transportation to so many doctors appointments in the last year-and-a-half I can't imagine what I would have spent on cabs in that period of time. To top it off, I just recently received a loaner car from Moneytalk. So now I can drive myself to appointments. Just having my own transportation available has also been a great help to my self-esteem. I hadn't realized how low it had gotten (my self-esteem) due to me feeling helpless a lot. I am so grateful for all Moneytalk has done for me.

Moneytalk is a wonderful agency that serves people holistically. I have been volunteering and seeing the different programs this foundation runs to meet people where they are. From clothing, to rental assistance, to education, to podcasts and programming - this organization serves everyone and really puts people first.

Moneytalk Finacial is a great nonprofit that is not your traditional agency. Moneytalk provides more than a payment for utilities or rent. This agency utilizes a way to give a hand up when you are in a time of need, not a hand out. In order to receive services, you must be willing to talk about the hard parts of life and how you can learn to create a monthly budget, shopping, utilizing free community resources, and have a very kind, friendly person to talk to on your worst days, even if it’s not about finances. I have been using Moneytalk for over six months and I have developed a great relationship and have utilized services as well as volunteered my time back. I love Moneytalk Financial and I wouldn’t be in the place I am in today if I had not been referred to them by a partnership with an automotive shop that helps those in need with a way to pay for services needed on my vehicle. I had help paying for my car tags when I could not afford them, school supplies, groceries for my very specific diet, and even a few rides to work while my car was in the auto shop.
