I love being a volunteer for the Mom and Me Mobile Medical Clinic. Why? Because I'm surrounded by some of the most wonderful people who care about those in need and are doing something about it. Basic medical care that's free...what a beautiful mission.

I started out with this organization way back in the beginning when Dr. Dale first talked of his dream to build the mobile medical clinic. I helped out with the fund raising committee when we were just doing car washes and dollar auctions. We'd make a little money then go do something on the truck (foundation floor, walls, etc.) then back to making a little more money. We finally got the inside done (examining rooms, bathroom) when we realized we needed a wheelchair lift. We ran yardsales all summer from items that had been donated to us and raised the $8000 needed for the lift. After 3 years we were finally able to roll the clinic out. April will be one year that we have been out helping as many people as we can. We now have a thrift store, located in Enumclaw (M & M thrift) that raises the funds needed to keep the clinic operational. No one in our organization, including Dr's and nurses, receive any kind of wage....we are all volunteers. I myself work the store 4 days a week, our Director works 7 days a week to make sure the clinic runs smoothly, from setting up drivers to move the truck...the Dr's and nurses needed to help the day of clinic, to picking up donations, to sorting donations. If you have a chance to come by, take a tour of this amazing clinic...built by a some very dedicated volunteers.
