Every once in a while one will come across a selfless human being with a refreshing, innovative idea which challenges and reframes everything we know about social service work. Fran Held built Mitzvah Circle Foundation because she knows the value of a person does not decrease because his/or needs are unique and do not fit within systematized eligibility criteria. As a client and a nonprofit professional, my life is a testament to how individualized services can address the most desperate of emergencies, while simultaneously helping to build and and empower new leaders. I commend and thank Fran and everyone affiliated with MCF. Your generosity was not a donation, it was a legacy in justice and kindness.

Mission: Mitzvah Circle Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides material support to individuals and families dealing with crisis, poverty, homelessness and serious illness. Through careful assessment and building personal relationships, we promptly determine needs and deliver individualized assistance. We serve people who are unable to obtain immediate or sufficient help from government agencies and traditional service organizations. Mitzvah Circle Foundation is not faith-based; we treat everyone with kindness and compassion, restoring hope and honoring dignity.
