Mission: Railroad crossing safety and trespass prevention.
Programs: With 402 funds,the organization purchased safety brochures; made a 25% grant match to a $20,000 grant from oli and the federal highway administration for media campaign of public service announcements (psa) and social media through learfield/missourinet for july thru sept. To include rail safety week and missouri farm safety month; conducted 10 gcci classes and 9 officer on the train events; these funds helped pay for meals and travel expenses for participants.
the organization trained 7 new olav presenters with the new operation lifesaver safety message in 2 different training sessions around the state; 35 presenters made 729 rail safety presentations to 13,017 people last year; conducted 10 grade crossing collision investigation classes for 128 police officers; conducted 9 officer of the train events where 105 citations and 33 warnings were issued for rail road crossing violations; contacted over 668 drivers at public crossings in our positive enforcement program (pep).
the organization hosted a highway patrol appreciation barbecue with approximately 25 representatives in attendance.
