Founded in 2018, MSAHT advocates for change and addresses gaps within the system to combat human trafficking. While still a young organization, MSAHT is continuously evolving programs and services to meet the needs of survivors and the communities it serves. MSAHT has accomplished a lot through its community outreach and speaking engagements which allows them to educate people on how to identify victims. They also assist survivors by connecting them with counseling, legal assistance, and shelters. Sunrise House, Mississippi's first trafficking shelter, was funded by the organization's efforts before being handed over to their partners. MSAHT collaborates with other mission-driven organizations, churches, and state agencies in addition to advocating for legislative changes. Thrilled to see what this little organization can do in the next five years.

I was blessed to work with MSAHT in planning a fundraising dinner and LAN session over the last two days. Our area in north Mississippi certainly has a need for awareness and education, and they brought a wealth of information to our community! Each speaker brought something unique to the table, and every person there learned something - no matter how knowledgeable they were about human trafficking. Heather was such a joy to work with and really reached out to bring this program to our area. We are so thankful to MSAHT for providing this platform to shine a light on the human trafficking issue right here in our area. Everyone enjoyed the two-day event and we hope to work with them more in the future!
