Mission: Mission: St. Louis empowers people to transform their lives, families and neighborhoods.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 100 unique students in two charter schools with the support of over 183 volunteers. 56 men completed internships with 15 internship providers and successfully graduated Job & Leadership Training. A total of 70 volunteers mentored and invested 1,024 hours of their time with our men. Hire St. Louis has placed 28 employees in living-wage positions. We served 228 families and 816 youth through our Affordable Christmas event, and we assisted 130 residents with their taxes.

Programs: Beyond School is a year-round expanded learning opportunity that prepares 3rd-9th graders to succeed in high school and post-secondary education. This program prepares students to enter high school with social, emotional and academic tools. We work with two St. Louis charter schools to provide additional learning time, beyond the school day, through individualized academic instruction and social/emotional support. Beyond Jobs is a four-part initiative that addresses unemployment in our city. This initiative equips people to be leaders in their workplaces, families and communities through Job and Leadership Training, Hire St. Louis employment agency, Hatch Enterprise business incubator and Revive Thrift Shop. For the men who graduated JLT, employment increased from 13% pre-enrollment to 76% one year after program completion. Because poverty impacts communities, our Beyond Charity programs are responsive to these needs. We help older adults navigate aging and poverty through Senior Services. We host volunteers to provide home repair and beautification projects to help revitalize communities. Through tax preparation and Affordable Christmas, we help families move towards financial stability.
