I had an earlier contact with Mission Hiring Hall / SOMEC . When I found myself in crisis mode,they helped sharpen my skills to make me more marketable and to stay positive & focused. Through there efforts I was able to land a retail assignement for a few months in 2007. Jerrica Hau,Queena Lu & Kathryn Horan are the career - makers in that office !!! They treated me with dignity and brought back my self-esteem & self worth. With their training I was able to take on my other pursuits to return to the professional services sector. Where I have been securely employed for the past six months. I highly recommend to everyone to be a part of the programs that they offer.Even in these difficult economic times, a person would be hard press to bewithout job skills if they havce the mindset to be diligent and respect others and themselves.
I wanted to move to the city so I was introduced to Stella Becerra, who works for the Mission Hiring Hall. Stella helped me organize my resume and sent me off to my interviews. I was able to get a job on my second interview - and I am still working for that company. I could have found a job on my own but going through MHH just made it a lot easier. She really listened to what I was interested in doing and found a list of employers who were good matches to my interest. I would highly recommend MHH to my friends or even co-workers. It's a great place to start and it takes away the stress of finding a good job.
Queena Lu; Our leader - trainer was extremely helpful and resourceful in providing us with top professional instruction on "Customer Service" The focus was on how we can actively use ideas and suggestion given to us in the classroom setting. Queena took great care to carefully show us different ways to look at and work in the real world. I enjoy my class and I feel confident that I will be able to use all that I have learned from Queena.
