Mission: St. John's helps position the children of San Francisco's Mission District for success by addressing critical educational and college access gaps in the community. Founded in 1972, St. John's serves over 1,000 ethnically diverse, low income students annually. Most youth attend local public schools where up to 80% of students score below the 50th percentile on standardized tests. St. John's works closely with Mission schools and families to provide both after-school and summer academic enrichment programs. A non-sectarian, nonprofit organization, St. John's honors its roots by using the name of the church that founded the agency.
