I have been going on Mission Discovery trips for over 20 years. Every trip I have been on has provided a unique experience that has been meaningful and led to personal growth. Mission Discovery provides opportunities to serve where it is needed most.
Mission Discovery has changed my life along with countless others! I went on my first Mission Discovery mission trip at 8 years old and kept coming back for more. Participating in their internship program as a young adult lead me to pursue a full-time career in missions where I now have the privilege of serving as Director of HOLD the Children child sponsorship program. God is always at work and Mission Discovery helped open my eyes to that truth!!
We have used Mission Discovery for our high school youth group mission trips for the past 15 years. We've been to places like The Bahamas, Mexico, Jamaica, Houston, Rapid City, Nashville, and Clarksville. Each trip is amazing and impactful in its own way. We love to partner with Mission Discovery! They organize everything, which is a huge benefit for us. My wife and I work full time and help with our youth group as part time staff at our church. We love the Mission Discovery team. They've become like family over the years, and it's been a blessing to see the impact these trips have had on our teens.
Mission Discovery is a group or humans that are changing the world for the better. Interning at mission discovery was truly a once and a lifetime opportunity that opened my eyes to the depravity in this world. The leaders and management behind this organization are compassionate, dedicated, and determined. I could not have asked for a better experience to grow, learn, and teach. If you are considering going on a mission trip, just stop thinking and go! I can promise you that a mission discovery mission trip will never be something you regret. Jesus can use anyone, in ways you would have never imagined! And mission discovery provides the safety needed and ministry partners in other countries that make the maximum lasting impact.
We have been volunteering with Mission Discovery for many years. They have trips to help those in great need all around the world. Every trip is a new adventure. Amazingly, these trips and the experiences that evolve are life changing.
At the end of a project in Jamaica, the group decided to leave their shoes as many locals worked shoeless. I have to admit, I was reluctant because I had just got new work boots. The following year, I saw a guy wearing my old boots. His response changed me forever. He thanked me and said because he had boots to wear, he was picked to work throughout the past year and was able to feed his family. Thank you Mission D for all you do to give us opportunities like this.
I have had the opportunity to partner with Mission Discovery for almost eight years. I remember one of the first experiences I had with them I witnessed this in action. The team had a project that needed to be completed in a timely manner. On this particular day some of our children from the community had stuck around to spend time with the volunteers. Instead of sending the children home the volunteers, delaying their own schedules, sat and spent time with the students. One individual, inited the student to join in the project and they began to build together. Two words I would use to describe Mission Discovery is an organization that is both Present and Aware. They take the time to be a part of the community allowing the community to join in and guide the work. The Mission Discovery staff and volunteers are aware of people and strive to always put the people first. The relationships formed with Mission Discovery will last forever and I am eternally grateful for all that Mission Discovery does and strives to do.
My relationship with Mission Discovery started in 2003. I have found them to be an organization of integrity with a focus on sustainable solutions for the locations that they serve. They have long term relationships with ministry partners in each area of service and opportunities for volunteers to continue relationships with those they meet through their Child Sponsorship program. I've been on trips as an individual, with my husband, and most recently, with my daughters (we took a mom/daughter trip when each turned 10). Mission Discovery has changed my life and the lives of those I love the most! They are awesome!
A trip with Mission Discovery changed my life! They showed me that you can serve anyone, anywhere, anytime. It's like getting your vision adjusted and seeing what is really important in God's kingdom. For a change of perspective, I would definitely recommend a Mission Discovery trip for you or your group.
This nonprofit changed my life. I see life through a new lens. I see other people in the eyes of Jesus. I know my purpose is not for monetary gain or myself. These people have reflected the light and vision of Jesus into my life and I now know that if i live my life for myself, it’s a waste of a life. The only thing you can take to heaven with you is those you lead there and why would you want to show up empty handed.
