I first heard about this organization when my son joined the military in 2017. Miss Sawyer was just a little girl at that time and I was so impressed by what she was doing at such a young age! The first time I made a donation was Christmas of 2017 in the "Stockings" program. At that time my son was stationed in California and he was so happy to receive a surprise stocking from Miss Sawyer. The next year he was deployed to another country and I again had a stocking sent to him...and it MADE IT THERE!!! Included in his box were stockings for any others that may not have received a personalized stocking and he secretly ran around in the morning and hung them on their barracks doors. This is just ONE of many, many things that Miss Sawyer does for our military members. She attends a ton of events (including events for our veterans) and makes so many people feel so much better! Her family and friends give her amazing support in helping make a huge difference in people's lives. I have watched her and her team spread goodness for the last 7 years and I can tell you this....the work they do is worth every single penny you give!!!!!! In my eyes, Sawyer is a rockstar, and so is her team!!!!!
Met Miss Sawyer yesterday, she gave me a Hero Rock, was so cool! Looking forward to her Veterans Day speech this year!
I have had the great pleasure to meet Miss Sawyer at The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier after she laid her 10th wreath at The Tomb. She was not phased at all by all the people coming up to her to congratulate her on her beautiful wreath she laid. She was very polite and well mannered for her age. She continued on her way to meet an Honor Flight arriving at The Tomb to hand out her Hero Rocks and Thank Veterans for their service. What an amazing selfless young lady.
I had the opportunity to meet Miss Sawyer and Miss Ava and Miss Annabelle at a Combat Veterans Benefit Ride, they were so kind and considerate and respectful and presented me with a beautiful Hero Rock. These young ladies are what we need more of in this country!
Miss Sawyer is truly loved by thousands of service men an women and veterans. I have seen her stand for hours at the Gulfport, Mississippi Soldiers retirement home on a Good Friday passing out flowers she potted, Hero rocks she painted and hugs to make the veterans Easter brighter. Last Christmas she and her mother flew to Gulfport, ms. the Friday before christmas and stayed up most of the night filling over 600 Christmas stockings to deliver on Saturday. She personally shook every soldiers hand and thanked him or her for their service and gave them a filled Christmas Stocking and a "Hero" rock. She visited the Navy Sea Bee base, Keesler Air force base the Coast Guard base and several fire departments spreading christmas cheer, and then made sure they were back in Michigan to deliver Christmas Cheer to the Manistee Coast Guard Station on Christmas Eve. All this is done by one 11 year old girl, her mother and less than 20 volunteers. This organization spends 100% + of the donations it receives sending love and cheer to our military. It is truly a remarkable organization whose motto is " Changing The World One Smile At A Time ".
Miss Sawyer Stockings, has sent my son a Christmas stocking every year he has been a Marine. She is an example of what all Americans should be!! I have watched her journey, her walks for suicide, wreaths laid at the Tomb of the unknown soldier, yellow roses on headstone and last but certainly can't be forgotten her Hero rocks for veterans!!
I have followed Miss Sawyer Hendrickson on FB for the past year or two and I have found her to be what every Veteran would hope their child or grandchild would emulate as a young person, the respect shown for our Veterans & Fallen Heroes".
THIS IS AN ALL AMERICAN, PATRIOTIC KID WHO THINKS OF OUR MILITARY AND VETERANS FIRST!!
I am so impressed we asked her to be the beneficiary of our FB Group's fundraising efforts at our Veterans' Reunion this month to donate to her non-profit. "Kids with a Cause"
She has become a special part of our Veteran FB group page for our elite unit from The 3d US Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, Presidential Honor Guard. I'm excited she will be attending our event if at all possible. What an inspiration for America's YOUTH!
I first heard about this organization when my son joined the military. Someone shared a Facebook post about this organization sending stockings filled with goodies to active duty military around the world! I decided to give it a shot, my son got his stocking and was so surprised and thrilled! Miss Sawyer and her team work so hard all year long to honor our military by sending them necessities and small gifts to brighten their days. Knowing that my son was touched by her kindness helped me as a parent as well, not having my son home for the holidays. I am generally not able to donate much, to any organization, but when I can...it pretty much all goes to Miss Sawyer's Kids With a Cause! They bring the importance and respect to our military (active or retired) that they deserve! First photo: my son's first Christmas away from home. Second photo: spending Christmas on a deployment far, far away :( These gifts mean so much to them :)
I met Miss Sawyer online 2 years ago. I followed her as she continued to do amazing things advocating for vets, current military and first responders. I then had the great pleasure of meeting her at Arlington National Cemetery last August after she laid her8 or 9th wreath. We spent the day doing lunch with her mom and a few other of her volunteers. I was so impressed with Miss Sawyer's intelligence and poise. She was 10 at the time but had the poise of an old soul. Her knowledge of the military and how she approached every vet eith her smile, holding out her had with a hand painted heto rock and verbally thanking them for their service. Several days later I trest her and her group to a visit snd tour of the US Naval Academy in my hometown of Annapolis, MD. Miss Sawyer is a bug reader of books and can recite many of the historical events involving our military. She attended over 150 events last year and sent 10,221 fully stuffed Christmas stockings to our troops all over the world. I truly believe that she will fo amazing things as she grows up. She lives doing what she does for the troops.
