Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary

My husband and I recently adopted two brother cats from MCF and Katie was amazing in making sure we got the right cats for our family and was even so wonderful as to deliver them to our home which was many hours away from where she lived. All in all, MCF is an amazing organization!

I have followed Misfit Critter for over a year. From reading her posts, I think she must be a saint. For people who have never operated a sanctuary, the work is almost overwhelming and costly. Her compassion for animals is never ending. I greatly admire this woman.

I have known Katie and Misfit Critter Farm for over 3 years and I don't know how she does what she does. She is an amazing one woman show. She cares for more animals than a lot of county shelters do and the cats live with her in her home. She tirelessly works to rescue, treat, feed, clean, place cats to people who will love and cherish them like a member of their family and she'll drive them across the United States to make sure they get to their fur-ever home. She sets up at various venues to promote rescue and to get pictures of her rescues out to people in hopes that they can be a good home. If anyone deserves a helping hand its Katie and Misfit Critter Farm.

I have been following Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary for quite a while on Facebook. I wish I lived closer to help, but I have made several donations and wish I could give more. I am amazed daily at the amount of work Katie puts into helping all these animals and I just don't know how she does it!! She inspires me! This is a wonderful place and I hope she continues to get the help and funding she deserves.

Katie does a wonderful job of caring for cats that otherwise would not have a chance. I am so glad that she is doing this! She constantly tries to get homes for the cats, but if that doesn't always happen, she keeps them. I try to donate whenever I can. She needs all the help she can get.

I have been following misfit critter care for a while now and even tho I can not afford to help this wonderful sanctuary the way I would like too I admire the work and rescue this wonderful person has done on her own. The compassion she has for ALL animals in need is admirable. It takes a special person to do all of this and one with plenty of love to give the animals in need . I will support this sanctuary and the wonderful lady that runs it and donate to it proudly.

Kt has helped me on multiple occasions with my own kitties. She is the kindest, hardworking person I know. And devotes ALL of her time to caring for her animals. She deserves everything good in this world and I can't say A single negative word about her. She loves what she does. And I love her for what she does. She's a beautiful soul. And her animals truly are blessed to be with her. If I could take all her animals I would in a heartbeat. Just so she could rescue that many more because I know they would have the utmost care misfit critters deserves anything and all that comes their way good!!! Love you guys!!

I have volunteered at this sanctuary and I'm currently fostering some of their kittens. Katie is an AMAZING woman who literally does anything and everything to make sure these cats are in the absolute best health. Every cat in her sanctuary is not just spayed/neutered, they're vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flea'ed, and treated as loving housecats. She deserves so much praise for her hard work and dedication to taking care of these animals. (Not even just cats! She also takes in horses, alpacas, and really any animal who truly needs a good home.) I couldn't admire and appreciate this woman enough. Love you Katie!

I think this is a wonderful and caring organization! I support it fully! I have donated many times, through Amazon. I have also bought t-shirts, that are of excellent quality. She gives all she has to give and more. And will deliver anything the US! If you are looking to help somehow, there are many ways! They do make a difference!

I have never seen a more caring, compassionate, safe rescue as Misfit Critter Farm and sanctuary. The owner KT does everything herself. She is a blessing to these creatures. KT goes above and beyond to help these furbabies. I am proud to say I adopted a cat from Misfits Critter farm and sanctuary. My cat was well taken care of there. He was vetted, neutered and KT drove him up from Va to NYC.

I am physically handicapped, and I was in desperate need of help when the feral cat I was feeding had kittens...6 of them!! Katie came out, helped me find the kittens, trapped the Mama, and brought them all to her rescue. I would have been able to do nothing about them without her aid. This is a wonderful rescue of animals. No one is turned away. I have volunteered & adopted from there. It is always clean & the animals are all well taken care of from feeding to medicine to litter pans. The specialty there is healing hopelessly sick kitties with a good survival rate. I love going there!

I've supported Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary for several years now. Katie does amazing work. She is passionate about saving animals. When I send money and goods, I know that they're being used for the intended purpose, saving animals. Katie is always seeking to learn to improve what she does for her animals and this has resulted in her being able to save many animals who would have died if not for her efforts. Katie should be commended for all she does and I'm glad to be able to offer my support. I strongly encourage others to support this non-profit, as well.

Misfit Critter Farm takes in and helps animals that have been injured, or/and sick, etc etc. This rescue takes in animals that nobody else will . Many animals have been saved and adopted out , who other wise would die. ( Any bad reviews are from another rescue place or friends of that particular rescue, that has been semi responsible for spreading FIV , because they pull cats and ship them off to other places.)
Misfit critter farm works with a great vet , and always does the up-most to save all FIV cats, and keep them away from other cats,;shelters,etc ..as to not spread this disease. other rescues in the area have not done this good of a job as misfit critter farm.! Number one place for all animals, especially those most in need. number one place to adopt and donate!!

We started dealing with Katie and her rescue about a year ago. Being cat owners for the past 36 years, we were pretty sure we knew everything there was to know about cats. Boy, were we wrong. This woman has taught us and shown us more in a year than any Veterinarian has over our lifetime. She has the determination of a badger, the heart of a lion and the compassion of an angel. She has pulled so many kitties from deaths door that (unfortunately) it's almost expected from her (she's that good) We have made the 5 hour drive on several occasions to bring her supplies and help, you have to physically witness what she does to believe it. We will continue to make the drive to bring her much needed supplies and will help her on-line every chance we get. This is the type of person that has become the exception rather than the rule.

I have followed the Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary from the days when it started with just one Cat named Easter. What makes this rescue unique, is that the owner/founder is 100% transparent. A lot of rescues claim to be, but I can promise that Katie posts all of the bad along with the good. She takes in the worst of the worst, the injured, diseased, disabled, and feral animals that would surely be put down if they ended up anywhere else, and nurses them back to health. Not all of them make it, but she puts in every last bit of effort that is possible to save them. She puts every last animal first, even when she was battling serious health issues of her own. She will drive a thousand miles (or more) if it means that one animal gets a forever home. Although she is at capacity, and truly could use all the help she can get, she will attempt to help other rescues/shelters by sharing their posts to all of her rescue's followers along with anything else she can. I have never known a more selfless person.

I have known Katie and her rescue for about two years. She has always gone above and beyond; putting all the animals needs in front of hers. I am so glad that she is an unselfish honest person that is so willing to help so many in need. I know that when she finds an adoptive family for an animal she will go across country herself to deliver that animal to his new home. I wish that everyone could be as unselfish and loving as Katie is. As far as I'm concerned she has the best rescue site ever. Through her website I have experienced her joy and her heartbreak as she makes day-to-day decisions concerning these animals. I cannot think of a better rescue site to donate time or money or supplies to Katie is awesome that's all I can say she's just awesome.

Excellent rescue filling a huge hole in the area. So many lives saved. So much happiness for families all over the country who have adopted. So much relief for those in need of help.

This rescue us an amazing rescue! This young woman bends over backwards to help cats and kittens in this area. She's fighting a battle on all fronts and has dine so much for the felines of rural Southwest Va.

This rescue is absolute in its passionate desire to save what is a forgotten creature in our area. She DOES seek veterinarian care for her animals, as in fact her vet she uses is Also mine and they are vocal in her support as well. This area has long needed a rwcue such as this and is blessed to have got it in Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary.

I've been donating to Misfit for well over a year now, and am certain that my support not only goes directly (and exclusively) to supporting the kitties, but is also spent wisely. This rescue has to one of the best in the country, and I will be continuing to assist them HAPPILY for many years to come.

Misfit Critters will always be the place to get a kitten/cat because it will be healthy and fully vaccinated before getting sent to a home. Katie makes sure every animal adopted is healthy before going to its forever home.
Katie is one of the kindest most generous people that I know. She does this out of the goodness of her heart and her home.

Wonderful rescue! Truly goes above and beyond to care for as many critters as possible. One of the cleanest rescues I have ever seen. Never denies Veterinary care to any pet in their care, regardless of cost, even though money is certainly not easy to come by. I realize some folks may have an issue with the death's this rescue has endured, however, I would ask these folks to keep in mind that the name of this rescue say's it all. The pet's other rescues turn away, due to illness or disability, this rescue doesn't hesitate to take those critter's in and offer them medical care, sanctuary, and love even when they know the emotional toll and cost will be more than difficult on the rescue itself. Thanks to this rescue, even terminally ill animals are given a chance, they are showered with love, food, shelter, and the best possible medical care before crossing the rainbow bridge. Also, this rescue has saved countless lives, including animals with little to no hope. I encourage you, especially anyone that questions this rescue and how it runs, to investigate further and I can promise you that you will be amazed and very pleased with what you find! To the individuals leaving nasty comments, go volunteer for a day, actually get your facts straight instead of spreading hate fueled lies, and see how you actually feel then.

Absolutely beautiful rescue!! This girl does so much for her critters and the humans who adopt them. Her space is lovely, clean, and welcoming and she makes sure her animals are well kept. She makes sure the homes are suitable no matter how crowded she gets and I had no problem with the vetting process. I cannot wait to get another baby from her!

Amazing rescue. I tooK in a disabled kitty and an older cat from them 6 months ago. The rescue is 3 hours away but met me half way. Love the furrbabies I got. You can tell theyou love each and every animal that comes in there.

This rescue is phenomenal. Contrary to other supposed "reviews" I know for a fact that all animals that come to this rescue are vetted to the fullest extent and are treated under supervision from a licensed veterinarian. This rescue is unbelievably clean and I have visited on multiple occasions with and without notice. This rescue takes in the most medically needy cases that no other local rescues will step up and take. Absolutely amazing and deserves your support.

This rescue is amazing. The woman is doing much more than the most of us do. She is going beyond her own boundaries to save as many animals as possible. She deserves to get more help and support.

I've been a supporter of Misfit Critter Farm from the very beginning. Katie stops at nothing to help animals in need and we need more rescues like hers. I live in Mississippi and am only able to support financially, but pray that more local folks will see what a tremendous effort is being done and start volunteering for this amazing rescue.

This rescue has a VERY high death rate. In fact, the highest around. What is more bothersome is that of most of the deaths that have occurred very few have seen a veterinarian and some have suffered for days before passing away. This rescue prides itself in practicing self treatments/medications on the animals and unfortunately the animals suffer for it. The rescue has no professional experience to practice vet care on their own. No college education/degree for veterinarian care whatsoever.

This sanctuary is truly amazing. Running 27/4 there is nothing the founder has not done to ensure the life and wellbeing of these beautiful animals who would not have made it without her. This organization is truly outstanding for all she does tirelessly. This sanctuary deserves to be honored. It is one of the top organizations I have ever seen.

I have actually been to this rescue in person. I brought a very sick kitten to Katie and she tried desperately to save it, she even performed CPR on it after it stopped breathing. I've never seen a single person be able to make such a large difference in a community as Katie has. She is very transparent with her rescue and I really appreciate that. She is the only rescue I know of that will take poor animals that are so sick they are practically dead and still try to save them. She never gives up on the animal, no matter how bad the situation looks.I found 2 cats that were dumped while I was visiting VA from Mississippi, and that's how I came to know about Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary. I contacted Katie and she agreed to take them both even though the female was heavily pregnant. The only requirement that Katie had was that I take them both to her vet of choice and have them combo tested and an exam, which Katie paid for. I did take both of the cats to her vet and they were both examined and tested for distemper, and they both got a combo test. The male passed all of his tests with flying colors, and the female tested positive for distemper, but passed her combo test. Even though the female tested positive for distemper, Katie still agreed to take her when most rescues would have turned her away or even euthanized her. I have made donations to this rescue and will continue to do so. I hope that sometime soon to be able to volunteer as well. This rescue is a one woman operation and she does the work of a full staff. It's amazing. I will continue to support this rescue for the rest of my life.

They have done outstanding work in their community by raising awareness by establishing a no/kill shelter and adoption center.

Misfit Critter Farm & Sanctuary is run by the love, blood, sweat and tears of one women. She is able to do alone what so many rescues can't do with a full staff. She has such a passion for caring for these animals and is a true inspiration! Since she is a one women show she can use all the help she can get. Misfit Critters is truly a life saving venture. Precious lives that would otherwise be lost are saved and given a chance at a full, happy life. They work very hard at taking as many as possible, in sometimes hard situations. They deserve recognition. I have followed them for some time now and helped when I could. I've never regretted doing what I could and desire to do more.

Katie has been incredibly responsive and transparent with all the donations myself and my girlfriend have made to her over the years. Her documentation of her work is exhaustive and everything she has achieved is beyond impressive. Hands down one of the hardest working and most amazing animal rescues in this country.
