As a single mother, who lives in a rural area and have battled a rare cancer and had two recurrences is the last few years. I do not know what I would have done without the kindness and generosity of Miracle Flights. I don’t think that I would be here to tell of their generosity without their help! I am so thankful.
Our son is 3 and has a very rare condition. Miracle flights flew us out of state for him to see a specialist that knew about this new diagnosis. It was a simple smooth stress free trip. They had everything set up for us. Thanks again miracle flights for this blessing.
When our son was referred to a doctor in New York City for a treatment that would help him live and help his development we were so happy that Miracle Flights provided us free tickets. So far we went 6 times and there is more procedure to be done. Thank you for everything you do for us and our son.
My daughter is the seconded ever to be diagnosed with a rare genetic mutation, called HOIP Deficiency. She has to visit the National Institute of Health on a regular basis for testing and research. With her being only the second person with this condition, it is very important for her to be seen at NIH. The Miracle Flights program has helped relieve so much stress by helping us with travel expenses. They go above and beyond to help patients and their families. Without this amazing program, we would struggle to get our daughter to and from these life changing appointments. We are so grateful for Miracle Flights and all the people that make it happen.
Miracle flights has continued to help my daughter travel from California to Philadelphia where she sees the best specialist for her condition.
Miracle Flights and to all the organizations that support them
We are thankful to Miracle Flights for all their support and help on our son's treatment. Over the last two years our son has had to travel several times during the year to continue his medical treatment. You are angels on earth.
We had an excellent experience with Miracles Flight. They helped us a lot, clarifying our doubts at all times. Lots of organization. A company would be honest with people. We just have to thank them, because without them we would not have been able to travel to our daughter's office. Thank you so much for everything .
Our family was blessed by Miracle Flights in October 2017. Our children and I have achondroplasia dwarfism. Our twin boys have severe spinal stenosis (narrowing) in their lumbar spine. It is hard for them to walk long distances or even sit for long periods of time without their legs going numb. Dr. McKenzie is the leading orthopedic dwarf specialist. We'd learned the hard way that it was vital to see a specialist that knew how to medically treat our children. Our daughter had two orthopedic surgeries locally that we later found out should have never been done on a person with dwarfism. We live over 700 miles away from his office. It would take us over eleven hours non-stop to drive to his office. However, it's so important that we see a specialist who knows how to treat their special orthopedic issues. We'd made the grueling drive the last two years, but the boys backs had worsened to the point we knew it was better to fly. I contacted Miracle Flights to see if they could help us out, especially since tickets for a family of five was very costly. Not to mention my husband had recently been laid off and had just been hired by a new firm. We were blown away that miracle flights would help us out! It was a huge blessing!! They were so kind, professional, and our family is forever grateful. Thank you Miracle Flights!! I pray that many will invest in your program that touches so many lives for the good. May God richly bless you!!
We were treated with respect and care. Such a relief to have help in getting my daughter to a specialist that can help her.
Our daughter, Kate, has had a litany of severe medical problems and we have struggled to find her appropriate care locally. Kate was accepted into a specialty program at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. We finally found the expert medical care Kate needs. Miracle Flights allows us to get Kate to connect with the care and doctors she needs. Columbus, Ohio is very far from our home, but with Miracle Flights, healing is close at hand.
Miracle flights provided my daughter and I a safe and wonderful trip to my cancer treatment appointment. They were very professional and granted us a trip with easy instructions on how to apply for the flights. We were blessed to be informed about Miracle flight services and we are greatly appreciative.
Miracle Flights has literally saved my life. When I first got sick with thyroid cancer, I was unable to continue working. During that first year we lost our savings, and our home, due to the severly decreased income. We live in Phoenix, and the best cancer doctor for my case is outside of Chicago. So it cost a lot to fly back and forth. But, we were very happy that the doctors had been able to get the cancer.
And then it came back. Not just once, but three times. I would not be here today if Miracle Flights had not been there to get me back to my doctors each time. They are truly miracle workers.
This charity is a cruel joke!!! If your child is on any sort of government assistance they refuse to help. Because of the type of assistance my child is on he can't be claimed as a dependant on any tax form at the end of each year. They disqualified my application for this reason. So if your truly despetate and in need of travel expenses this is not a charity. My son has to travel out of state because there are no doctors in our area that have any experience in treating his rare brain disease. His disease is terminal but Miacle Flights doesn't care about the well being of the sick!!!
Review from Guidestar
Miracle Flights are a wonderful organization sent from heaven for families with special needs children. They flew us to the appointment with Dr. Buie twice in Boston Children Hospital and back to San Diego, CA.
Wonderful people and we are wholeheartedly grateful for that.
Blessings from a mom to Megan with ASD.
I had been misdiagnosed for years. All of a sudden on October 18th, 2016, I woke up with a headache that wouldn't go away; 24/7. I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a genetic defect in my skull that makes it too small and it caused my cerebellum to herniate into my spinal column. Compression of the brain stem can cause many symptoms, up to and including sudden death. I could no longer be upright because the pain was just too great. By Nov I couldn't drive, would randomly go temporarily blind, I couldn't remember anything, along with many other symptoms. I went to several neurologists and neurosurgeons who couldn't help me because it was so rare and they didn't know enough about it. After months of research I found an expert in my condition at the University of Chicago Medicine, more than 700 miles away and the closest to me. There are only a handful spread out across the country! A friend with my same condition told me about this program that paid for her flights back and forth to her surgeon; they helped save her life. Once her surgery started her Dr realized her condition was much worse than the MRI's had shown, and was dumbfounded that she was able to walk much less still alive! I am only at the beginning of my journey; I go back in Sept 2017 for a few days of more testing and appointments to determine if I am a candidate for decompression surgery to remove part of my skull and make more room for my brain. It isn't a cure, but can help slow the progression and help to prevent worsening of symptoms and hopefully relieve some symptoms. Without Miracle Flights, my family could never afford for me to go! With the cost of hotels, food, etc for myself and my husband, who must travel with me because of my physical disabilities, there was no way we could also afford to fly or drive back and forth. My husband, kids, mom, and I can never thank Miracle Flights enough!
Miracle flights is just that.... a miracle! They arranged commercial travel for our teenage son who uses a power wheelchair and needed to see a specialist for his very rare disorder. They saved the day as we could not carry him onto a small private plane nor could the small plane take his chair. Thanks to miracle flights we got him safely to and from the doctor. They totally helped this overwhelmed mom!
Our son was born with a clubfoot that relapsed this year at the age of 9. We do not have any doctors in our state that can treat a relapse in an older child, which involves a surgery. We paid out of pocket for all his care and never could have covered the cost of travel on top of that. Without Miracle Flights my son would not be able to walk right now! We are so grateful for this wonderful organization!
The Johnson Family
My husband is very sick and we had to travel from Sidney, Ohio to San Diego, California for medical treatment. We did not have the financial means to pay for our airfare. Miracle Flights was a wonderful blessing to us and provided a way when there seemed to be no way. We are so thankful for the service you provided to us.
Wading through going to a specialist in another state with a precious newly adopted four year old (castings, major surgery with hip sockets reformed with donor bone, 3/4" taken off each leg, hips put in socket, and feet flattened) is not easy on a parents heart. You hate to see your child in pain, even knowing the end result is a gift from God. Yet Miracle Flights stood by us with kindness and support. At one point (because of the unusual spica/body cast) we even needed two seats just for our son. Miracle Flights made it happen. To say that we couldn't have done it without them is the absolute truth. They are making a difference. Our son will be able to walk and they played a part in it.
I want to tell you that I am truly grateful for the noble work provided by miracle flights, because it has helped my family very much economically by providing the air transportation of my son and my wife to attend their consultations and surgeries in Galveston Texas, truly admirable is their Non-profit work and I would love that the people who within their means can contribute and help this organization my family and I thank them.
