Great nonprofit grass root organization. No one on the staff is paid. Truly a labor of love and compassion to promote autoimmune disease awareness, specifically systemic lupus awareness.
As a sufferer of auto immune disease this organization has been so needed to help with specific information for the needs of minorities and women of color. Most of the information and research are performed with out us in mind this includes us at the moment of our need.
The organizer Sherry Williams is an exceptional individual. Sherry started the MWAID and has been working diligently to ensure that this nonprofit organization is recognize in the community.

MWAID has partnered with the NMCBC annual healthfair and back to school drive for the last 2 years. They have offered a wealth of information and support to those in the Northeast Houston community and beyond with women and families affected by these diseases. They have also been a supporter of The Houston Medical Forum and furthering the education of minorities in medicine.
This is a wonderful nonprofit organization providing a need that has gone overlooked. This work is necessary and provides a service that will educate and save lives.
