I have been a member of the Women of Today since 1995. I love MNWT! It has turned me into a strong, confident leader through all of the many opportunities I have utilized. I have held positions on the local, district, state, and national level of the organization. It has given me the opportunity to grow professionally, as well.
Women of Today is a volunteer organization that tackles projects about which we are approached, and/or for which we have a passion. Our members meet monthly, volunteer in the community, and hold social events and personal growth training. WT is a work in progress, striving for more social activities and volunteer opportunities with other non-profit organization in our community. Please consider coming to an event or meeting near you to find out more about us and join the fun!
I have been a member of this organization for 12 years. I joined because I needed friends. Not only have I made fantastic friendships through the years, I have been encouraged and supported to try new things within the organization. I have served as an officer at the chapter, District and as a State Program Manager. Every year I learn new skills, make new friends and encounter some truly amazing women.
I have been a member of Women of Today for over 10 years. I found the Burnsville chapter when I was new to the area and looking for a way to volunteer in the community. I found that and so much more.
The first tenet of MNWT is Service. Our chapter volunteers at community events, has a adopt-a-street commitment, has held events and completed projects for our local women’s shelter, participates in walks like Relay for Life and March of Dimes and holds many collection drives, just to name a few. We are always open to new causes and looking for ways to give back.
The second tenet is Growth. There are many personal development opportunities as well as leadership training and positions. We have focused on mental health, personal defense, book clubs, learning about civics and growing personal organizational skills in the past. I have held positions at the local, district and state level and have truly grown my personal skills in each of these.
Lastly, Fellowship. Through Women of Today, I have met some of my dearest friends. This was such an unexpected bonus. We have socials, do weekend getaways and support each other in so many ways.
My life is truly better off for finding Women of Today and we would love to have anyone join us to experience this too.
I am a new member of Avon Women of Today. I was new to the area and wanted to get more involved in the community. I joined Avon Women of Today in January 2020 after talking with a current member at a church meeting. I saw her enthusiasm about the mission of service , growth and fellowship. I never told her that she had me ready to join at the January ‘Chocolate’ Social, because I knew that I would be welcomed. I also saw their dedication to the community and organization.
But then the 2020 pandemic struck. Events they normally would have were put on hold. I was so impressed with the leadership of our group to ‘think outside the box’ and the drive, determination and resourcefulness of everyone in our group to continue to help our community. They truly all are leaders in our community and I am proud to belong to this organization.
I joined this group to help them and others in our community. And now I see that they are helping me and challenging me to grow.
I am optimistic about the future and the impact all of us can have when we get back to normal.
I joined Minnesota Women of Today in 2009. I have met some of the most wonderful women in this organization and have made lifelong friendships. Being in Minnesota Women of Today has helped my self confidence grow exponentially! Because of this, I've been able to take on leadership roles at work and in the organization.
In our small community we have worked with a bank in town and anonymous community members to purchase gifts for at least 25 families yearly that otherwise wouldn't have been able to have a Christmas.
Minnesota Women of Today has been involved in Domestic Violence Awareness and at one of our State meetings, we raised over $1200 in 3 hours for a Women's Shelter.
These are just a small examples of the things that Minnesota Women of Today does. At our State meetings we celebrate the good we've brought to communities throughout Minnesota. It makes me so proud to be part of this fantastic organization!
I joined Minnesota Women of Today 7.5 years ago as a means to meet new people, find ways to volunteer and give back to my community. I have gained so much more--I have boosted my confidence and self-esteem through meeting strong women that have believed in me and helped me to believe in myself to set and achieve lofty goals. I have held positions at the local and district levels as well as held a staff position for two years. I have gained lasting friendship across the state and around the US through conventions and various meetings. And, to top it off, I have grown so much personally from the opportunities I have had to participate in a multiple of community and state-wide projects that are making a difference.
I am a charter member of Avon Women of Today since 1983. I believe in "may we leave the world a better place because we lived and served within it". I love volunteering in my community and chaired four blood drives this year even with the pandemic and the Avon Women of Today sponsor them. We also do Adopt-a-highway, Toy Bingos, park enhancements, social events, high school scholarships, Boo Bash, Magic of Christmas, National Night Out, etc. It's a great way to meet people and do community service.
I have been a member for almost five years. I volunteer in my community with not only kids and families but also with the seniors. We spend time with them and we also raise funds to give them the things they need. I have also grown as a person by getting opportunities to be a leader. I have made so many new friends all over the state and even some across the country.
I love being a Women of Today member. We are helping out so many different areas in our state. It is so rewarding to do so many good things in times like this. My favorite is our blood drive we do three times a year. We added an extra one this year due to the need because of COVID-19. Our community has come together and exceeded our goals each time this year. I am so proud to be a member of a great organization.
I have been a member of MNWT for several years. Their motto of "Service, Fellowship and Growth" are reflected in everything they support. I joined for the fellowship aspect of my local chapter but have quickly found that the service and growth are intricately woven into every aspect of the organization. They have challenged me to grow both on a personal level as well as in my professional career. Working in service to others has given me the opportunity to help others within my community as well as the state. I wish I had more friends and acquaintances that I could share this organization with.
Being a part of this organization helps me feel like I am making a difference in not just my community but in our state as well. I have gained valuable leadership skills and knowledge of different organization throughout all of Minnesota. The great thing about this organization is being able to meet people in cities I had never heard of and attending events that I would never had known about. This is an amazing organization to be apart of.
