Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Sports, Winter Sports

Mission: To provide a welcoming, safe and fun environment to Military Veterans and Active-Duty personnel through the game of hockey. Minnesota Sentinels Hockey is for military veterans and active-duty members, including our National Guard and Reservists – there is nothing more important than fostering camaraderie, team building, and creating a feeling of belonging to something greater than yourself. Come and be a part of a military based hockey team in the State of Hockey. We are open to all service members and veterans who have honorably served or are currently serving. We especially welcome our disabled veterans. There is no requirement to have hockey experience, just a love for the game and willingness to be part of a special group of individuals and to have a safe place to get physically active and make connections with your peers.

The impact of the Minnesota Sentinels transcends mere recreation; it's genuinely transformative. While it might sound a touch dramatic, the authenticity of this statement is undeniable. This organization, along with its remarkable members, consistently goes above and beyond to foster a culture of care and unwavering support for the military community.

Amidst the oft-celebrated bonds forged through sports, the Minnesota Sentinels distinguish themselves by cultivating connections that extend beyond the playing field. What sets this organization apart is the shared experience of its members, each having undergone the same rigorous training.

Walking into the locker room is a profound experience, where a sense of belonging is not just felt but embraced. Upon my initial encounter with the members of the Minnesota Sentinels, I was struck by the warm welcome extended to me, eradicating any trace of awkward silence that typically accompanies joining a new team. This organization has become a second home, a sanctuary where I eagerly anticipate every opportunity to spend time with these exceptional men and women. Their camaraderie and support have made an indelible impact, turning the Minnesota Sentinels into more than just a team—it's a cherished community and a source of genuine belonging.
