Programs: Education:provided 43 education programs to over 1700 participants through webinar, in person seminars and conferences for health care executives, caregivers, managers, hospital trustees, physician leaders and members of the public.
quality and patient safety:mha administers a hospital improvement innovation network (hiin) through a contract with the centers for medicare and medicaid services (cms) to help mha members implement evidence-based practices to reduce patient harm across the board including hospital acquired infections, medication and surgical events, and other adverse health events. Compared to the new 2014 hiin baseline, mha hiin members have prevented 19,264 events and 7,097 readmissions, which translates to cost savings of $133,578,969.
data and information services:mha provides data resources for members, policy makers, researchers, and others. These resources include annual financial summary data through the health care cost information system (hccis) and information about health care administrative claims. Mha also analyzes policy proposals to gauge their potential effect on hospitals and their patients.
public education:mha has a public education campaign that engages the public in support of meaningful health care coverage, solutions to the opiod epidemic, and support for mental health.
