MHARF rescued 55 horses from one person back in 2012. Long story on how it happened, but the stars aligned and I met a beautiful Hackney pony from the case. He was starved, abused and absolutely petrified of all things human. I sat with him in his dry lot for weeks, letting him get to know me. He wouldn’t let me touch him. After A LOT of patience and LOVE, he finally started to relax and enjoy his life again. It took months! I officially adopted him a year later. It’s been 8 years now. He is my heart! He is happy and healthy and absolutely loves his herd! He whinnies as he stands by the fence when he sees me arrive at the barn. I won’t ever be able to ride him but I couldn’t care less. He makes me laugh every day! If MHARF hadn’t rescued them, and SO many others, these beautiful souls would have died a slow, painful death. They do so much and help so many! They always need donations as the vet bills from just one rescue animal can be significant. If anyone ever asks me where they should donate, I say MHARF every single time. Please help them if you can. Me and my precious pony thank you!!

MnHARF has been working hard to rescue hoofed animals in dire situations for a long time. Many animals have been able to start a new life with wonderful adoptions. After fostering for quite awhile I was able to adopt a gelding from a very large group rescue of 55 horses being hoarded in terrible conditions of starvation and mistreatment. Dollor had to overcome his fear of people, specially men from possibly hurting him along with very poor hoof condition. It took several years but he now has very healthy hoofs and a much more trusting attitude. He has become a very nice riding horse and we hope to enjoy many years of trail riding together.

MHARF is an amazing organization! I can't even imagine how many horses have been helped by their work over the years. I am so grateful that my horse, Syd's Shadow, was one of those horses. Syd came to MHARF as a starving 7-month-old and was saved and cared for by the MHARF staff and volunteers until I adopted him when he was 3 years old. Syd is 16 years old now and is a smart, funny, kind, gelding. He is sure that every person is lucky to meet him and puts a smile on everyone's face! I have learned so much from him, and he is the light of my life. Thank you to everyone at MHARF who had a part in Syd and me finding each other!

MHARF is an amazing organization full of selfless, caring people. I have been fostering and training for them for 7 years now and am so grateful to have a part in helping find forever homes for these sweet animals!

I have been donating to MHARF ever since my daughter adopted a horse in 2012. The horse ended up not being the right fit for our family and we were able to return her and adopt a large pony who was a much better fit. The MN Hooved Animal Rescue stands by their adoptions and wants both the horse and the people to be happy! I have always received a donation receipt for my donation checks in a timely manner. And I am happy to be able to follow the rescue on their facebook page.

MHARF will always hold a place in my heart. We had the pleasure of fostering horses through them and also the privilege of volunteering at several events.
I appreciate yhe uniqueness of MHARF as they get to work closely with law enforcement on neglect and owner forced surrenders and then put their heart and sole into getting the horses back on track.

I have been fostering horses for MHARF since 2010. I have always appreciated the organization's commitment to doing what is in the horses' best interest by vetting potential adopters to make sure the placement is right for both the horse and the adopter. They are also dedicated to making sure horses have all of the veterinary and farrier care they need and also handling and training to make them more adoptable. They do not take on more than they can handle at any one time and they manage their resources well.

MHARF does so much good with so little. They have taken so many neglected, unadoptable horses and gave them a new chance to see there is love. Even if it includes driving 2 hours one way, pay to take this horse, drive 3+ miles back the other way just to put this poor baby out of her painful misery. I currently foster this sweet boy Reddy aka Red Head from MHARF and have 3 other adoptees on my farm. I will always foster for them and recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a horse, look here first.

I have had a great experience with MHAR.
I foster a companion horse named Quinn. He has some medical issues. I have always received his pain meds and support when needed.
I only wish I had the space to take in more of these rescued horses.
MHAR is a terrific organization to be associated with.
Below is the sweet boy Quinn.

The MHARF has helped so many horses from truly horrible situations. Starvation, severe neglect, untreated injuries. They do it all with the support of amazing donors, volunteers and adopters. Rescuing, caring for and ultimately finding loving homes for the horses that come through their doors. Over the years, I have been able to adopt 3 wonderful horses from them that I love dearly. They do amazing work.
