Mission: Minnesota alliance for patient safety (maps) utilizes diverse stakeholders to address patient safety issues for which collaborative action will advance the the state toward the vision of the safest care possible.
Programs: Maps continues to be the most broadly based health care coalition in the state, with representation from the entire continuum of health care providers, state agencies, regulatory boards and active consumer representation. This broad representation and input makes us unique among health care groups and associations. Maps has a perspective that helps our member organizations gain insights into some of the more vexing quality and safety problems we face today. Some highlights of our work from the past year include:- successful completion of a major grant examining patient engagement for increased safety at transitions of care,- the development of tools, a website and a smartphone app to help consumers stay safe during transitions of care,- a successful and very well attended biennial safety conference with national conference caliber keynote speakers and 20 breakout sessions. Membership totaled 112 organizational members and 11 consumers.
