After my baby girl died from a terminal illness I reached out to Milo's Sanctuary to donate my baby's last kitnipbox she wasn't able to enjoy. Michele was very friendly and receptive, she even took pictures, made a collage of the cats enjoying the toys, and put up a memorial. This was such an exceptional thing to do and was extremely therapeutic as we work through our grief. I can see how Milo's Sanctuary cares for cats and how they help make the world a little brighter!
I became involved w/Milo's Sanctuary about 2 years ago after I unexpectedly became involved in rescue and acquired a cat w/an eye injury. I had no idea where to turn & was referred to Milo's president, Michele Hoffman, who got the cat into Milo's vet and assisted me in every way possible through a 2 month odyssey of care, much of which was in hospital, with grafts, revisions and host of things. The cat not only got to keep her eye, but she is fully sighted. In the time since then, I have had the opportunity to become more involved w/Milo's. I have never ceased to be totally impressed by Milo's impeccable standards, commitment to cats, community outreach and its president. Michele Hoffman is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, is wise and balanced and is generous sharing that knowledge w/other rescues/individuals.
I became involved with Milo's Sanctuary about four years ago as a volunteer. I was blown away by the work Michele Hoffman, the founder was doing and wanted to be involved with this rescue organization that helped all cats, but most importantly - special needs cats. The ones no one else wanted. I've been a board member now for two years and am honored to do my small part raising funds and raising awareness. Milo's mission is about giving ALL cats a second chance and I am so happy to work with this amazing rescue!
I first became aware of Milo's through a FB share. Since then I have become an avid follower by donating money and participating in several auctions. Reading about how many special needs cats were helped by my little participation warms my heart. I only wish I lived closer so I could be more hands-on.
