This group of mamas and a few men have learned how to put love and hugs in boxes and envelopes. They do not expect anything in return. If more groups were like this, we would be talking about how well we treat our military, not how horribly difficult it is for them to receive the benefits that they deserve.

Military Mama Network (MMN) and Geriann have been a God send! As a Vet I knew what my daughter was in for when she enlisted and I supported her knowing it would be a long and difficult journey for both of us as she had chosen a male dominated field, much like I had.

I had been a quiet observer in the group for over a year before she enlisted and because I was a Vet and love to help others, I volunteered to help wherever I was needed when she enlisted. In the spring of 2019 I went through the Leadership Training Classes offered by MMN and graduated in the first class in April. I wasn’t sure where my journey would take me but knew I would be challenged to go outside my comfort zone in many ways!

When my oldest daughter enlisted, I had also taught myself to crochet and design graphgan patterns that pertain to military life and different American themes not only as a release and to keep my mind off the “no news”, but also as a way to say thank you to my brothers and sisters in arms who sacrifice so much for us to be able to enjoy the freedoms we have and enjoy as an American. Again, I wasn’t sure where this would take me. Less than 1 year later, I have an amazing group of over 75 women in MMN and outside of MMN who just want to show their love and support, who crochet items to send to our troops in support of MMN’s top priority which is “Support our troops, veterans and their families”. We crochet stockings to fill and send at Christmas, soap sacks, helmet liners, lovies for the littlest family member, bears for the “bigger kids”, lapghans for veterans, and graphgans as fundraisers or special orders.

Is this where I thought I’d be ? Did I ever dream or imagine I’d be overseeing such an amazing group of others with the same heart for our military as myself? Could I fathom that we’d have crocheted over 150 stockings, 200 soap sacks, 25 lovies, 10 bears, 15 lapghans, 12 helmet liners, and 4 graphgans with 4 more in the works? No, but God did and He knows where each and every item is needed the most to have the most effect at showing the love and appreciation that many have toward our military members and their families and all that they sacrifice.

Military Mama has been an amazing way for me to take my mind off my Sailor and to funnel my abilities into helping others! Since joining, I have participated in Mission Elf, Operation Christmas Train, have gone through leadership training, am a Chapter Leader, part of the fundraising team, crochet Graphgans, lapghans, afghans, bears, lovies, stockings, soap sacks, and helmet liners for our military and their families to help with the adjustment of their son/daughter/sibling serving and away from home, many times for the first time, veterans being sent a lapghan after the death of their son to provide some comfort, warmth and love, wives receiving matching items with the veterans of their spouse so they can remember to love, support and help each other, and to help make the service members and their families feel loved, appreciated and supported.

My child is no longer serving. However, as a Veteran myself, I continue to and can’t imagine not being a part of Military Mama Network. The friendships formed go far beyond the boundaries of the organization.

I have been challenged beyond what I thought I could do. However, with the common goal of our military members and their families at the center of this organization, I have far exceeded my expectations in many areas and ways for what I thought was possible! I am not an extrovert by any means, but to raise awareness about Military Mama Network and what we do, I was challenged to step out of my comfort zone. I did so in many ways, not the least of which was to do a live stream FB feed and a live feed radio interview. NEVER in a million years is that something I would have done for anything! But I did! I overcame some insecurities and fears and spread the word about who we are, what we do, how we started and how people can help!

I know that without the training, the support, the challenge and the love of those in Military Mama Network, what has been done with my God Given Gift of crochet and designing graphgans, is far reaching and lets those receiving the items know they are loved, cared for, thought of, appreciated, prayed for and supported.

MMN has helped me in so many ways. When my only son joined the Army four years ago I thought my heart would break. The women in this group helped me understand that my son was doing something to be proud of. When my sons father in law passed away of a sudden heart attack this group was so helpful in giving guidance in how to contact Red Cross and get both my son and his wife back to the states in a very timely manner for the funeral. I check in with this group everyday. Knowing that that their are other mothers out experiencing all the feelings I do helps so much. If you want a worthy cause to donate to MMN is one the best.

Finding this network of like minded people has been a lifesaver for me. My son is in the Army and there are so many terms, so much information, and so many emotions to digest and process. The leadership does a great job breaking things down, helping to better guide the experience. We also do great things to support those who have put their lives on the line for freedom.

MMN has been a life saver for me. It's a safe nonjudgmental place to pour your heart out about anything and everything. Both of my sons are in the Army. At one point they were a drive away. Now I can't drive to where neither one of them are stationed. A whole lot of tears and sleepless nights. These MOMS are the best. Sending care packages, cards for all occasions and some just because is of great comfort. I'm so glad us moms have a Network we can be apart!!! I'm truly very blessed to be apart of MMN.

This is an amazing, grass-roots group. Their focus started with helping the founder's son and then expanded to helping his friends and things grew from there.

The organization is focused on operating efficiently and cost-effectively to maximize the percentage of donations that go directly to services and solutions provided.

Their mission has expanded to help vets and military families and they continue to build the infrastructure they need to be a well-run organization that makes a powerful difference.

They are inclusive and welcoming, so you can always find a way to help and those in need can always get the help they need.

I am so thankful to the Military Mama Network. I have a safe place to reach out to others in my situation. They are very knowledgeable and kind, but most of all non judgmental.
When having a bad day I can ask for prayers. When I have a general question, someone is always there to respond. I have been involved in the Secret Sisters program for 2 years now and have had a great time surprising my sister with cards and small gifts and receiving love back in the mail.
There are so many programs within the network. Along with the love and kindness of all the members.

When you think of family you tend to think of your mom, dad, sisters, brothers etc. etc. but there’s a whole other family I think of when someone mentions family to me and it’s all found in this amazing group of individuals who make up many different parts of our military. You’ve heard that expression “I got your six” well this group right here definitely has your six (back) ... we are one here with a leader who puts others first in many ways. Geriann is kind, the kind you want in your life that brings peace knowing without hesitation she and others support you.

My son finished high school early to leave for Marine Corps Boot Camp. He became a Marine, came home to walk his high school graduation stage and three months later turned 18. He could barely drive a car when he left. He hadn’t had his first girlfriend, Prom or so many other firsts in life. I wasn’t done raising my son when he left, I wasn’t ready. I’ve never experienced some thing more painful in my life. It’s the most confusing, and complex mix of emotions ranging from extreme pride to profound sadness and I was lost. I had physical family around me, but I was psychologically alone, and not coping well. There’s a lot of things I don’t remember in those early months, including how I found the Military Mama Network and their FB Support Group. What I do remember is that somewhere along the road, some thing changed and it was because of this group! This group of moms rallied around my pride and my sadness and my need to help others, and picked me up off the floor! They understood me and gave me tips and tricks and ideas of how to keep busy and stay involved. I had a mission, and that first Christmas, myself and eight other military moms here in our town who had just met, sent out over 500 care boxes to our deployed soldiers. This amazing organization saved me and they are still there for me to this day, several times a day to be honest. They’re there for me to give back, to ask questions, to cry to, or to celebrate with. 24/7 this group is open, inviting and supportive. This group is family at a whole new level and I will forever be grateful to Geriann and the MMN.

Mama Military Network has proven to be a necessity in my life and in other's. I learned of the group before my son left for Basic in the Army. At times I feel so overwhelmed with sadness missing him and worrying about him. I turn to the group and am immediately comforted by warm hearted and sincere folks. Lots of times I celebrate with other families as they learn of promotions, child births, weddings, etc. And more times I feel a sense of worth by reciprocating the love and support back. I really don't know how I'd be dealing with this journey if I didn't have these amazing people at my fingertips.

Military Mama Network is a community that provides support, resources, encouragement for Moms, (and Dads, Grandparents, Spouses, and other loved ones), of those who are currently serving or have served in our Armed Forces.
When a family member is serving, it can be a scary, isolating situation for a Mom, especially if this is the first family member who has served. Watching the news, scrolling through social media can be terrifying and the fear of the unknown can be paralyzing. A Mama can talk to her friends and family about her fears and concern - but unless their friend has this particular experience, they may listen and try to offer support, but they just don't get it.
Military Mama gives us a safe place to come and share our stories and questions with other Mamas who are going through the same thing, or who have traveled this path - and let me tell you, the level of support is phenomenal. You suddenly don't feel so alone.
Military Mama Network also provides support for our service members in need. I have seen miracles happen when the Mamas take action. As well, they provide online activities such as organizing and sending care packages, as well as having local chapters providing activities in their communities.
It is an amazing group that demonstrates love and support for our service men and women and their families.

Life saving and Full service support group!

Not only have I received support as a Military Mama, but, support for Cronic illness, support for my Marine son and his family, support for my Veteran friends and family. Shared experiences through laughter, tears, celebrations and fears. The people and connections I have made both online and locally would never have been made without MMN and I am eternally grateful.

At a time in my life when I was in a low place in my personal life, I was offered a leadership role within the MilitaryMamaNetwork! The lessons and encouragement through the leadership program not only restored my personal life, it has improved my business and restored my self confidence. I will never be able to repay what has been given to me from MMN, but, I will forever pay it forward!

The excitement and positive energy from the board of directors and leaders is unmatched. The genuineness, honesty, integrity and dedication to community improvement of the founder, Geriann, is the standard every person should follow.

I am proud to be a part of MilitaryMamaNetwork!

This little dream, to help a soldier and his dog, has taken off to be an amazing life and world changer. One person at a time, we attack wish lists, stranded troops, and those in need of support with a passion and single mindedness that always amazes me. We don't spend much time reliving our victories--there's always someone who needs us next. We can't do it all. But we can do something. And we will. For as long as we can. For as many as we can. With as much love as we can. Join us. Support us. And pass the word.

The all around support I have been able to give as well as receive from this nonprofit group has been amazing. Being able to talk with other moms (and some dads) in a secure setting, being able to open up about what you’re feeling or dealing with and know they truly understand, want to lend support and help any way possible is a real life saver. So many other groups are “clicky” or have their own agendas. If you do not fit their mold, you’re not accepted. In Military Momma, you are welcomed and feel special from day one! We have simple and secure guidelines to follow and our moderators are quick to jump in when they are needed. They never ask anything more than to be respectful to each other. When we have a family, a soldier, a member in need, we pull together and work to come up with whatever we can to help. Sometimes it’s a simple hug, a card, a letter of encouragement. Maybe it’s having an online baby shower, chipping in for airfare, car rentals, a hotel room or tag teaming to drive someone across the miles. No matter the need; each time they are all treated equally important, given with love and gratefully received. The sleepless nights, endless calls, mailings, fundraisers, you name it..we all do it together to help our fellow military members. We are united as one regardless of the difference in branch, miles, age or family dynamic. Here we respect each other; we ARE family.
Being a donor of time and money as well as a general member brings me joy. As a CEO to a nonprofit myself, I know the importance of organizations such as these. Thank you Military Momma for doing everything you do to make our community possible. I look forward to many more years of giving to this wonderful organization.

A Military Mama at times feels like no one in her inter circle understands her feelings! Her child is deployed not at college or on vacation! Her heart aches and seeing Christmas decorations validates her child will not be Home for Christmas! An empty chair where laughter radiates and her heart screams, I miss my child and will they get to eat Christmas dinner! No one knows how bad she feels while painting on a big smile to hide the tears ( not to wreck everyone else’s Christmas.
This Mama knows of a place where other Mamas are going through the same. It is a safe place where she can share her feelings ( not be judged) and where she can read how others get through the holiday. The Military Mom Network.

A great non-profit is about what it *does* and MMN supports those who serve our country (past and present) with integrity, compassion and true grassroots passion. This commitment to our military comes from the mamas (and men) who compose the MMN community... A community founded in support of loved ones that serve, asking nothing in return.

During that time, I became aware of how many needs there really are for those who serve, and their families. The general public sometimes doesn't get that inside glimpse into military life. They make the assumption that pretty much everything is taken care of for them, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I admit I still to this day don't choke up when I see our men and women in uniform, knowing the magnitude of the sacrifices they will make for all of us here at home during their service. The great thing about this organization is that you get to really be a part of it-you know the stories behind your contributions, you have interaction on a firsthand basis. You know where your contributions are going, and you know there's not a lot of overhead involved where your dollars are diluted.

Military Mama Network is a wonderful organization. There is so much experience in all branches of the Military. There is always someone there to help you with your questions, or with support. I have always sent care packages to Army service members that I knew were deployed but since I joined MMN I have sent care packages to not only the Army but the Navy, Marines, Airforce members and also to USOs. I love supporting our Troops. It is especially rewarding to do at Christmas time when they do the Christmas Train. To show those deployed that they are not forgotten that we do love, appreciate and support them 100%. I am also a member of the MMN Card group. We send cards and letters daily to those in need. MMN also does outreach programs and helps our Veterans. This is a GREAT place to donate as there are no fat cats at the top taking the money for their own pockets, what is donated is spent on the needs of our Troops and Veterans. God Bless our Troops and God Bless America!

This group is amazing. I joined when my son entered BCT last year and with no prior military experience myself the wonderful people in this group have helped me immensely navigate the world of being a military mom. From helping me find info on his unit to emotional support. I don't where I would be without their help. Keep up the great work!

Through MMN I found great support from others based on shared prior experiences. I found this support to be extremely helpful and comforting. I've been able to participate with several projects to help assist soldiers and their families when they were in need. I feels great to give back support to our military!

I have certainly laughed, shed some tears, felt extremely grateful, prayed and received prayers through the website. I send cards (& have even gotten a few back expressing gratitude - what an amazing feeling to me that in someone's time of need, they take the time out to thank me for a card!! I love this group!) I belong to a local chapter, although we haven't had the opportunity to do much with that yet...but I look forward to the day that we can, in many ways as possible :-)

This is an amazing group. It assists with navigating through life in the military for families. It also has created a global network that allows us to feel connected wherever we are and to know that all of our loved ones are supported. I have witnessed the power of this connection through assistance for a loved one who may be stranded or experiencing an emergency - it only takes a call to action and the need is met. There is all also tremendous support to troops out in the field through care packages and words of encouragement. We honor our fallen with random acts of kindness. So much needs to be done but through this organization so much is being accomplished.

My son joined the national guard. While he was in basic training, I found this group. They were a source of knowledge and resources. Seeing the need they service, I volunteered with this group to send cards and care packages to others. I have received the nicest notes and cards from veterans, soldiers/sailors in training, active military, and deployed military.
They are so thankful for the cards and packages that show strangers appreciate their service to our country. I am so thankful everything that this group is here and I get to be a part of it.

This group of mommas is amazing! From sending cards to soldiers and family members to care packages both home and abroad. These women stand ready and willing to help soldiers and their families at a moments notice. Not too many groups can say this. I am PROUD to be a member with these wonderful women!

Extroidinary! With MMn, we are never alone. When Im approaching anything, someone is always there to help woth advice, or solutions, and guidence to resources. When Ive came accross others in distress, ive passed them along to Gerianne, founder of MMN, and the need is somehow met. Shes so genuine and passionate about helping. When I could not afford to fly to CA from OH for my sons mastectomy at age 19, MMN offered to help with the ticket cost. I have since, paid it back and paid it forward when I became able. To think she took an idea and started such an amazing group, showing and defining ways any average person can help, she truly has paved a pathway for us to show our support in even the simplist of ways. The way she manages and delates areas but always seems to stay involved in all chapters and all the specialty MMN sites which include but not limited to prayer groups, card groups, fallen friday groups, shipping care package groups, immediate need groups, etc. How does she do it? Because she is driven to help the troups and families because our freedoms and their sacrifices are never left unnoticed. Never does she waiver on he Mission of the group.
She realized early on that military support and supplies are simply not enough. Life happens to all of us. She is certainly an outtstanding role model for many of us and has shown us how we can help. Many want to help and just dont know where to start. You can begin woth prayer, its free. You can send a card, its cheap. You can make a donation of any amount. You may volunteer to box things up or send holiday items or suppplies to our deployed. Everyone can volunteer something.
Most men in my family, both mom and dads side, were military. I could join the American Legion or VFW, but this takes the cake on every aspect of helping our military and their families. Weve given rides to families when they had no way to get to their military member, helped feed stranded military members at the airport, got shelter for active military suddenly disrupted by transportation or monetary issues and even an across state assembly line to military in need. This is a group that SHOULD be recognized for what they do, all they do, and the huge hearts that they show support, from the smallest of ways to the biggest of ways, from North to South, East to West, and extending that to our deployed troops as well.
Ive laughed with her and cried with her but Ive never actually met her in person. I dont need to. She is one of the best mentors we could have stateside.

Since my last review, I have become more excited about MMN. I am a local leader, we send boxes overseas as a group. We have collected coats for a local Veteran group. We have been there for Mama's with deployed Military, and for Mama's who are sending the kids to boot camp. I have talked to the Commander of the local Recruiter's office. He is so excited about MMN, and having someplace to send families for love and support. MMN sent my Son tons of Birthday cards for his 21st Birthday. Everyday he was telling me "I got more Mom. MMN is the best." I could go one and one. One thing I know, MMN will do what ever we can to fill a need for Active duty and Veteran's alike. I sit and cry sometimes over what we have been able to accomplish.

My husbands company didn't have any money to buy presents for the military kids for the Christmas party.

This group dropped everything and made it happen in less than two weeks.

Also, this group got 4moms to donate a swing to a new mom in the company and build a bear to donate stuffed animals.

Without Military Mama Network there would've been an army Santa without any gifts to pass out.

This was my first year getting involved with this group. My family and i sent 5 packages to a soldier. We haven't gotten a response yet and i hope the soldier received them. With that said normally we donate to the military by bring items to a collection site. But this year it hit home when our son enlisted.

As a recipient of cards from the network I can speak first hand on what an impact a few hand written notes can make during day to day operations. The unexpected letters during mail call wishing a Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas truely warmed my heart. It reminded me that the folks back home have our 6. Thanks for being a blessing to so many!

I love being able to support our military past our son's service. The hearts we touch with cards and boxes are a never-ending source of joy. The notes and pictures of those receiving a bit of love from home always make us smile. I love continuing to work to help as many people as possible and it always amazes me that whatever need or challenge comes our way we have a great group of members who are ready to fill the need or be available for backup if needed whether it be a ride, an airport visit during a layover, welcome home, or just to remind someone they are thought of so far from home.

While my grandson has been in the military I rely on this group of fantastic mamas to guide me, pray with me, laugh with me and yes even cry with me. I go to this group to also help others who have questions. I check in a few times a day to see what new posts there are. One night a mama had a son traveling and he needed food/shelter at the Dallas airport. This occurred about 10:00 pm. I was able to help by calling the USO in that airport. They game me a # for this young man to call to get in touch with them. It all ended well. Seeing so many mamas working to get this fine young man food/shelter late into the night was such an amazing feeling. The group is like my second family. They never judge...always offer praise and words of wisdom.
