This group of mamas and a few men have learned how to put love and hugs in boxes and envelopes. They do not expect anything in return. If more groups were like this, we would be talking about how well we treat our military, not how horribly difficult it is for them to receive the benefits that they deserve.
Military Mama Network is a community that provides support, resources, encouragement for Moms, (and Dads, Grandparents, Spouses, and other loved ones), of those who are currently serving or have served in our Armed Forces.
When a family member is serving, it can be a scary, isolating situation for a Mom, especially if this is the first family member who has served. Watching the news, scrolling through social media can be terrifying and the fear of the unknown can be paralyzing. A Mama can talk to her friends and family about her fears and concern - but unless their friend has this particular experience, they may listen and try to offer support, but they just don't get it.
Military Mama gives us a safe place to come and share our stories and questions with other Mamas who are going through the same thing, or who have traveled this path - and let me tell you, the level of support is phenomenal. You suddenly don't feel so alone.
Military Mama Network also provides support for our service members in need. I have seen miracles happen when the Mamas take action. As well, they provide online activities such as organizing and sending care packages, as well as having local chapters providing activities in their communities.
It is an amazing group that demonstrates love and support for our service men and women and their families.
This nonprofit is a wealth of information and has a vast network that is used to help both active duty and veterans in need as well as their families.
Life saving and Full service support group!
Not only have I received support as a Military Mama, but, support for Cronic illness, support for my Marine son and his family, support for my Veteran friends and family. Shared experiences through laughter, tears, celebrations and fears. The people and connections I have made both online and locally would never have been made without MMN and I am eternally grateful.
At a time in my life when I was in a low place in my personal life, I was offered a leadership role within the MilitaryMamaNetwork! The lessons and encouragement through the leadership program not only restored my personal life, it has improved my business and restored my self confidence. I will never be able to repay what has been given to me from MMN, but, I will forever pay it forward!
The excitement and positive energy from the board of directors and leaders is unmatched. The genuineness, honesty, integrity and dedication to community improvement of the founder, Geriann, is the standard every person should follow.
I am proud to be a part of MilitaryMamaNetwork!
Having 4 sons and 2 daughter in laws serving our country, this organization has been a life saver . From personal support from Gerianne to being connected with websites, groups and even being on the ground floor of small group creation . The last 5 years if support have been amazing.
I love to be involved with sending care packages to our troops. Once my soldier had a friend (also a soldier) with a difficult pregnancy and had to be shipped to a better hospital leaving her support system behind. I got ahold of mmn. and let them know the story and they stepped in with support, food and mommas to sit with her so she wasn't alone then baby items when baby was born
As a long time member of MMN there have been many experiences that touched my family, but my most memorable is from the early years. My father a Navy Veteran was suffering through cancer treatment and members sent balloons and dozens and dozens of get well cards. Over the weeks of receiving the cards my father was more and more touched by the out pouring of compassion by total strangers! A moment in life I will never forget.
From the moment my soldier son left for Army BCT, through my Navy Dads illness and death, MMN has been a constant source of support, comfort and of course friendship.
I've felt honored to be involved with sending boxes and cards, blankets and pillows and so much more!
A wonderful dedicated group of people, selfless and caring for our military and families!!
Military Mama Network is a safe place to get support, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of what we are each going through. This amazing group supports our military families in moments of need. We provide support in so many ways to each other and our military members unconditionally. I would be lost without this group.
Military Mama Network has helped me feel not so alone while my only child was serving. All the moms and dads on this group are going through or have gone through the ups and downs of having someone in the military. They reach out and lend a hand when needed. I love how they all come together whether it is a military member or spouse in need.
Four long years ago, my little girl became my hero when she joined the Army Reserves. I lost my heart the day she shipped to Basic. However, then I was introduced to this amazing group of Mamas who get the fears and heartbreak we military Mamas experience. Now as a moderator for the group and not a rookie, I can return the favor to new Mamas. Without this group, so many Mamas would be lost and hurt feeling all alone. We support our troops with care packages, our veterans with letters and cards and support each other with our words. What an amazing group!
An organization beyond incredible!! Such an honor to be a member!!!
Awesome group - incredible job done supporting troops/veterans and military families!
This beautiful group of fantastic ladies have helped me so many times. From the time my son went to Basic Training to when he was deployed to Iraq.. When I felt I couldn't take it anymore with my soldier being deployed they gave me the strength to get through my day and then the next day and the next. I lean on this group more than I lean on my husband. (Don't tell him that!) My son is back home, but because of this group and what they did for me, I still wear my RED shirt on Friday's to show my support for those still deployed. This is the best support group.
The card group and operation Christmas train are amazing opportunities to encourage our military one solider at a time.
Hardest working group of people I’ve ever known! Open 24/7/365 for the needs of our service members and veterans
This little dream, to help a soldier and his dog, has taken off to be an amazing life and world changer. One person at a time, we attack wish lists, stranded troops, and those in need of support with a passion and single mindedness that always amazes me. We don't spend much time reliving our victories--there's always someone who needs us next. We can't do it all. But we can do something. And we will. For as long as we can. For as many as we can. With as much love as we can. Join us. Support us. And pass the word.
The all around support I have been able to give as well as receive from this nonprofit group has been amazing. Being able to talk with other moms (and some dads) in a secure setting, being able to open up about what you’re feeling or dealing with and know they truly understand, want to lend support and help any way possible is a real life saver. So many other groups are “clicky” or have their own agendas. If you do not fit their mold, you’re not accepted. In Military Momma, you are welcomed and feel special from day one! We have simple and secure guidelines to follow and our moderators are quick to jump in when they are needed. They never ask anything more than to be respectful to each other. When we have a family, a soldier, a member in need, we pull together and work to come up with whatever we can to help. Sometimes it’s a simple hug, a card, a letter of encouragement. Maybe it’s having an online baby shower, chipping in for airfare, car rentals, a hotel room or tag teaming to drive someone across the miles. No matter the need; each time they are all treated equally important, given with love and gratefully received. The sleepless nights, endless calls, mailings, fundraisers, you name it..we all do it together to help our fellow military members. We are united as one regardless of the difference in branch, miles, age or family dynamic. Here we respect each other; we ARE family.
Being a donor of time and money as well as a general member brings me joy. As a CEO to a nonprofit myself, I know the importance of organizations such as these. Thank you Military Momma for doing everything you do to make our community possible. I look forward to many more years of giving to this wonderful organization.
A Military Mama at times feels like no one in her inter circle understands her feelings! Her child is deployed not at college or on vacation! Her heart aches and seeing Christmas decorations validates her child will not be Home for Christmas! An empty chair where laughter radiates and her heart screams, I miss my child and will they get to eat Christmas dinner! No one knows how bad she feels while painting on a big smile to hide the tears ( not to wreck everyone else’s Christmas.
This Mama knows of a place where other Mamas are going through the same. It is a safe place where she can share her feelings ( not be judged) and where she can read how others get through the holiday. The Military Mom Network.
I work for Cortiva Insitute in Joliet IL, a massage therapy school. On a daily basis our students wear uniforms, but in Feburary and March we told them if they dontated at least a $1 they were able to "dress down" for the day. In the 2 days we raised $66, we truly support out military family.
This group is amazing!... I am very happy to have gotten in touch with them. My daughter has a hair loss condition called Monilethrix. She had been feeling bad about herself & is only 4 years young. Military Mama Network made sure to put a huge smile on my daughters face by sending her sooo many letters & care packages....I will forever be grateful for everything they did to help us out & most importantly make my daughter Melody happy!,,, Thank you
I am proud to be a member of the Military Mama Network and I give whenever I can. I know every dollar I give goes right to the campaign of my choice. MMN is a wonderful organization whose sole mission is to support our service members in any way we can!
A great non-profit is about what it *does* and MMN supports those who serve our country (past and present) with integrity, compassion and true grassroots passion. This commitment to our military comes from the mamas (and men) who compose the MMN community... A community founded in support of loved ones that serve, asking nothing in return.
As an Army Mom, as a volunteer, as someone who has seen the results of the MMN's work, I cannot say enough about this group.
This organization is incredible. Not only does it help us mamas on a daily basis when we need encouragement and support, but it also helps us to help others! We are blessed with not only encouraging others with our words but we also have the opportunity to help our service men and women as well as their families when they need it the most. It is totally a win win for everyone!
I love your review, but did you realize you gave us one star? LOL
I've been so encouraged to stay strong no matter what this military family life may bring. It's not always easy but it's always great to know there are understanding people out there to help keep you going. That's what Military Mama Network does! They've always been quick to answer any questions I've had, give advice along the way, or just be a listening ear.
The MMN made it possible for me to help a young mother to relocate after escaping an extremely abusive situation. They jumped into action immediately!
Never underestimate the power of a (military) mama (and a few good men!) And when you put over 7,000+ of us to work, we can move mountains. I became involved with MMN when my son joined the Army. During that time, I became aware of how many needs there really are for those who serve, and their families. The general public sometimes doesn't get that inside glimpse into military life. They make the assumption that pretty much everything is taken care of for them, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I admit I still to this day don't choke up when I see our men and women in uniform, knowing the magnitude of the sacrifices they will make for all of us here at home during their service. The great thing about this organization is that you get to really be a part of it-you know the stories behind your contributions, you have interaction on a firsthand basis. You know where your contributions are going, and you know there's not a lot of overhead involved where your dollars are diluted.
Military Mama Network is a wonderful organization. There is so much experience in all branches of the Military. There is always someone there to help you with your questions, or with support. I have always sent care packages to Army service members that I knew were deployed but since I joined MMN I have sent care packages to not only the Army but the Navy, Marines, Airforce members and also to USOs. I love supporting our Troops. It is especially rewarding to do at Christmas time when they do the Christmas Train. To show those deployed that they are not forgotten that we do love, appreciate and support them 100%. I am also a member of the MMN Card group. We send cards and letters daily to those in need. MMN also does outreach programs and helps our Veterans. This is a GREAT place to donate as there are no fat cats at the top taking the money for their own pockets, what is donated is spent on the needs of our Troops and Veterans. God Bless our Troops and God Bless America!
My son was suddenly deployed, his new wife was thousands of miles away from any family they stepped up and gave her support emotionally we were so far away to give.
This group is amazing. I joined when my son entered BCT last year and with no prior military experience myself the wonderful people in this group have helped me immensely navigate the world of being a military mom. From helping me find info on his unit to emotional support. I don't where I would be without their help. Keep up the great work!
Through MMN I found great support from others based on shared prior experiences. I found this support to be extremely helpful and comforting. I've been able to participate with several projects to help assist soldiers and their families when they were in need. I feels great to give back support to our military!
This group is fantastic! It has offered me an opportunity to thank our military men and women and to learn more about military families. I am disabled and this group gave me a way to contribute by sending cards and letters.
From letters to special fundraisers and support for all of those who are affected by military this group is amazing! Everyone is phenomenal !
Our family (army) has been on the giving and receiving end of this amazing group of "mamas"
( and a few good men ) Every goal and every need is met by amazing people! I have met and formed lasting friendships in military mamas mission to help all military branches past and present!
I have certainly laughed, shed some tears, felt extremely grateful, prayed and received prayers through the website. I send cards (& have even gotten a few back expressing gratitude - what an amazing feeling to me that in someone's time of need, they take the time out to thank me for a card!! I love this group!) I belong to a local chapter, although we haven't had the opportunity to do much with that yet...but I look forward to the day that we can, in many ways as possible :-)
This is an amazing group. It assists with navigating through life in the military for families. It also has created a global network that allows us to feel connected wherever we are and to know that all of our loved ones are supported. I have witnessed the power of this connection through assistance for a loved one who may be stranded or experiencing an emergency - it only takes a call to action and the need is met. There is all also tremendous support to troops out in the field through care packages and words of encouragement. We honor our fallen with random acts of kindness. So much needs to be done but through this organization so much is being accomplished.
My son joined the national guard. While he was in basic training, I found this group. They were a source of knowledge and resources. Seeing the need they service, I volunteered with this group to send cards and care packages to others. I have received the nicest notes and cards from veterans, soldiers/sailors in training, active military, and deployed military.
They are so thankful for the cards and packages that show strangers appreciate their service to our country. I am so thankful everything that this group is here and I get to be a part of it.
This group of mommas is amazing! From sending cards to soldiers and family members to care packages both home and abroad. These women stand ready and willing to help soldiers and their families at a moments notice. Not too many groups can say this. I am PROUD to be a member with these wonderful women!
Extroidinary! With MMn, we are never alone. When Im approaching anything, someone is always there to help woth advice, or solutions, and guidence to resources. When Ive came accross others in distress, ive passed them along to Gerianne, founder of MMN, and the need is somehow met. Shes so genuine and passionate about helping. When I could not afford to fly to CA from OH for my sons mastectomy at age 19, MMN offered to help with the ticket cost. I have since, paid it back and paid it forward when I became able. To think she took an idea and started such an amazing group, showing and defining ways any average person can help, she truly has paved a pathway for us to show our support in even the simplist of ways. The way she manages and delates areas but always seems to stay involved in all chapters and all the specialty MMN sites which include but not limited to prayer groups, card groups, fallen friday groups, shipping care package groups, immediate need groups, etc. How does she do it? Because she is driven to help the troups and families because our freedoms and their sacrifices are never left unnoticed. Never does she waiver on he Mission of the group.
She realized early on that military support and supplies are simply not enough. Life happens to all of us. She is certainly an outtstanding role model for many of us and has shown us how we can help. Many want to help and just dont know where to start. You can begin woth prayer, its free. You can send a card, its cheap. You can make a donation of any amount. You may volunteer to box things up or send holiday items or suppplies to our deployed. Everyone can volunteer something.
Most men in my family, both mom and dads side, were military. I could join the American Legion or VFW, but this takes the cake on every aspect of helping our military and their families. Weve given rides to families when they had no way to get to their military member, helped feed stranded military members at the airport, got shelter for active military suddenly disrupted by transportation or monetary issues and even an across state assembly line to military in need. This is a group that SHOULD be recognized for what they do, all they do, and the huge hearts that they show support, from the smallest of ways to the biggest of ways, from North to South, East to West, and extending that to our deployed troops as well.
Ive laughed with her and cried with her but Ive never actually met her in person. I dont need to. She is one of the best mentors we could have stateside.
Since my last review, I have become more excited about MMN. I am a local leader, we send boxes overseas as a group. We have collected coats for a local Veteran group. We have been there for Mama's with deployed Military, and for Mama's who are sending the kids to boot camp. I have talked to the Commander of the local Recruiter's office. He is so excited about MMN, and having someplace to send families for love and support. MMN sent my Son tons of Birthday cards for his 21st Birthday. Everyday he was telling me "I got more Mom. MMN is the best." I could go one and one. One thing I know, MMN will do what ever we can to fill a need for Active duty and Veteran's alike. I sit and cry sometimes over what we have been able to accomplish.
If you are serious about supporting our Military and Veterans, this is the place to be.
Without the support & encouragement I have received from this group my walk as a Military Mama wouldn't be the same .
Happy to be a part of such a Wonderful group !!!
Happy to be able to help others like myself now :)
Thank you xxx
Outstanding!!!! Always there to help our military and family members
I love this organization and all the good they do for military families in need. I enjoy making cards of encouragement and support as well as sending boxes when possible. With MMN there is something to enable anyone to be envolved.
My husbands company didn't have any money to buy presents for the military kids for the Christmas party.
This group dropped everything and made it happen in less than two weeks.
Also, this group got 4moms to donate a swing to a new mom in the company and build a bear to donate stuffed animals.
Without Military Mama Network there would've been an army Santa without any gifts to pass out.
This was my first year getting involved with this group. My family and i sent 5 packages to a soldier. We haven't gotten a response yet and i hope the soldier received them. With that said normally we donate to the military by bring items to a collection site. But this year it hit home when our son enlisted.
Fabulous group -- hope to be much more involved in 2016.
Getting packages is the best part about being a Cadet. It always cheers me up!!
As a recipient of cards from the network I can speak first hand on what an impact a few hand written notes can make during day to day operations. The unexpected letters during mail call wishing a Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas truely warmed my heart. It reminded me that the folks back home have our 6. Thanks for being a blessing to so many!
- A grateful Soldier
This group is wonderful! It offered me great support and gave me a place to donate my time, talent and treasures. I feel that this is not just a group but it is family.
I never realized having a child in the military meant that I would became a member of such a wonderful family! This group does amazing things!!
I love this group. I have been a member for what seems like ages. Everyone is always there for you night or day to talk to you or internet hugs or prayers .they understand what I go through with my son being deployed or any question about military anything. This picture below is the tree that military mamas sent to my son's platoon in the sandbox.
I love being able to support our military past our son's service. The hearts we touch with cards and boxes are a never-ending source of joy. The notes and pictures of those receiving a bit of love from home always make us smile. I love continuing to work to help as many people as possible and it always amazes me that whatever need or challenge comes our way we have a great group of members who are ready to fill the need or be available for backup if needed whether it be a ride, an airport visit during a layover, welcome home, or just to remind someone they are thought of so far from home.
So Happy to be part of this group. The amazing support that is given in the group compares to nothing else! So glad to do my small part in helping the Military.
Honored to be part of this wonderful group. I've always been a "mama" to my kid's friends, now I can do it to kids I have never met. When there is a need, this group comes together and meets it.
This nonprofit organization is wonderful. They help our military members and their families in times of need.
Great organization that rallies up to provide for our military members, families, and veterans. A network of love and support for all who served and are currently serving our nation.
Military Mama Network is amazing and inspiring, supporting our service members with gifts of needed items as well as fun items and yummy treats. This organization started with one Military Mama and has grown to over 5000 individuals who do what they can, when they can to meet the needs and support our service men and women.
The best organization that I have ever been a part of. Geriann has built this organization to something that gives love and caring attention to all our military. I could never speak
Higher of any other organization!!!
Military Mama Network Rocks!
When the Alarm for assistance sounds the network members move into action until the mission is accomplished! I'm a proud member and would recommend to anyone!
One of the best non profits there is where the money really goes where they say it goes. I'm honored to be a part of such a giving organization and who deserves to be recognized more than our soldiers who sacrifice so much so that we may lead the lives we do
I am so honored to be a part of such a wonderful network! We offer everything From moral, emotional, motivational, mental and financial support to all our troops and their families!! Such an awesome job is being done!!
this organization has ALL answers ever needed to survive the military parent roll. they do such good work helping soldiers when they need items or just verbal support. it is great that people still care like these ladies and men do.
So grateful to be part of MilitaryMamaNetwork!
Doing great things for our military everyday!
While my grandson has been in the military I rely on this group of fantastic mamas to guide me, pray with me, laugh with me and yes even cry with me. I go to this group to also help others who have questions. I check in a few times a day to see what new posts there are. One night a mama had a son traveling and he needed food/shelter at the Dallas airport. This occurred about 10:00 pm. I was able to help by calling the USO in that airport. They game me a # for this young man to call to get in touch with them. It all ended well. Seeing so many mamas working to get this fine young man food/shelter late into the night was such an amazing feeling. The group is like my second family. They never judge...always offer praise and words of wisdom.
This is one of the most amazing caring giving groups of people I have ever met. I have been a part of this Network for 2 years now and i have watched them help ton and ton of needed soldiers and thier families.
I grew up in the military community and military culture. I also have family members currently serving. Yes, I'm also an administrator in this group, however the mama's in this network are amazing. When the VA drops the ball, the rest of the world contacts us. We are growing because we care AND when it comes to supporting our troops, we get it done.
MMN has supported me by sending support and words of encouragement to me and my soldier. They send cards and boxes full of basic supplies to our military in need. They have helped with the costs associated with a death of a child and the rebuilding of a home when a soldier came home to a disaster. They never hesitate to support our military and their families!
The founder of this organization has the biggest heart in the world and really wants to make a difference in the lives of our veterans and active military men and women. She does not rest until the basic needs of our heroes and their families are met. Follow the Military Mama Network Facebook page and you'll see what I mean. From the simple to the complex the Military Mama Network finds a way to deliver.
