This is one organization that puts its money where its mouth is, providing financial aid to address coverage gaps for military members, veteran and their families. I am happy to support them each month with a donation.

Veterans need projects such as this, thank you for what you are doing.

Thank you MHF for advocating for our Veterans and pushing for common sense reforms to TriCare and the VA, while also providing a vital service.

As an Army Veteran and father of an Active Duty Marine, it is not often I find an organization serving the needs of Veterans, Active Duty Personnel and families. The Military Health Foundation is doing an excellent job with limited resources and I am glad to support them with a monthly donation. Their small all volunteer team is very knowledgable and while they do not advertise it, is fairly connected to the case management teams at the VA and Tri-Care.

I was glad to find this organization a few months ago, they setup a fundraiser for me and started raising money to help me with the cost of a service dog through their Puppies for Patriots program. They agreed to publish my story without disclosing my name to the general public, I was thankful of their acceptance of me and my request for anonymity during a rather difficult time in my life. They are still working with me, my family and my Dr. to find a service dog program that can help me with my PTSD.

Our son Mason was covered under Tricare healthcare, which has been a blessing in covering all of his medical needs up to the point where he need a cranial helmet. Because Mason thankfully does not require surgery at this time, Tricare views the condition as cosmetic and will not cover the helmet. Tricare is failing to consider the potential future issues that could result if Mason does not receive a helmet now. His best chance at fixing the torticollis and plagiocephaly before enduring this pain was the helmet.

Together, with the Military Health Foundations financial support we were able to help Mason get the treatment he needs. Now as of August 19, 2017 Mason will be able to enjoy a normal life full of fun and happiness.

The Military Health Foundation worked closely with us and Cranial Technologies, Inc. and our daughters helmet was offered to at a military discount, bringing the price of the Doc Band from $3,500 to $2,500. Through the support of The Military Health Foundation, the Garret family was able to receive enough money to cover Sadie’s treatment.

On June 29 2016, Sadie was fitted for her Doc Band. She received it on July 9, and she is now wearing it and on the proper treatment course. We are so glad this organization was able to help otherwise we would not have been able to afford Sadies treatment.

Mason, was born August 3, 2015, at a whopping 9lbs 1oz, he was the most beautiful baby boy. Because of his size, the doctors believe he ran out of room sooner than anticipated, causing him to sit lower en utero for a longer period of time. Because of this, Mason was born with Torticollis. This is a rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side. we were told to do neck stretches to try to treat the stiffness, and after about 4 months he was able to move his head freely to both sides with ease. However, while he was going through the treatment, he favored laying down with his head facing the right side. This has now caused another condition called Plagiocephaly, which is flattening of the head. Mason now needed a DOC band, to help correct his head shape. As of right now, his flat spot is causing his right ear, jaw and part of his skull to move forward, which can cause problems later on in life. It can even affect his eyesight.

This organization was able to get us the needed funds to cover his cranial helmet in only a few weeks, we are so grateful for their help and Mason is doing so much better now.

Our daughter Arabella suffereed from Torticollis (a shortened or tightened muscle in the neck). She is currently in physical therapy to correct the Torticollis, however she has developed a flat head and asymmetrical facial features as a result of the Torticollis. An infant medical helmet is required to correct the flat head (plagiocephaly) and asymmetrical facial features.

Thanks to MHF, we were able to get her fitted for her helmet and they setup a payment plan with the manufacturer on our behalf so we did not have to worry about it.

The Military Health Foundation was able to help us with the cost of our son's cranial helmet. TriCare refused to cover the cost of his helmet and within 2 weeks he was fitted and had his helmet.

This foundation is so amazing! When I realized getting a helmet for my son wasn't covered by Tricare I was surprised and frustrated. We thought we wouldn't be able to afford it. I'm so thankful to my sweet friend for recommending and the military health foundation for helping. I'll be forever grateful.
