Mission: Midwest housing equity group inc's mission is to change lives for a better tomorrow by promoting the development and sustainability of quality affordable housing and housing for the elderly and aging populations.
Programs: Midwest housing equity group, inc. (mheg) provides acquisition, advisory and asset management services primarily by acting as the general partner of approximately 42 limited partnerships (the "funds") which invest equity capital in other partnerships or llcs formed to develop, own and operate affordable housing projects which are eligible for federal tax credits under section 42 of the internal revenue code. In addition to providing equity for these projects, mheg provides technical and advisory services to the partnerships for a fee. In 2016, mheg partnered with 35 developers to close $190 million in equity for 42 developments, creating 1,674 affordable housing units. Fourteen age restricted housing projects were developed, creating 655 units. Development of fifteen multifamily housing communities impacted fourteen midwest communites by providing 570 affordable housing units. Five single family neighborhoods were developed offering 124 homes. Eight special needs housing developments were completed in five states offering 325 units. Projects ranged from a 10 unit rural deal to a 172 unit urban deal and represented 38 midwest communities.
